Re: GPU2 open beta

I wouldn't think a P4 could keep up with the 3870X2. My [email protected] is only getting about 73% GPU usage according to ATI CC with a 3850 512MB. Now my other card is working @ 99% with a 1.9ghz Athlon X2, but it's a 2600XT 512MB card with a lot less shader power.

Re: Official F@H GPU Work Unit Thread

Fired up a 3850 and 2600XT with the new GPU2 client and it's working great, and making good point production. Has anyone else started using this client?

Re: Official F@H GPU Work Unit Thread

The 2600's may not be the best gaming GPU's out there even for those on a budget, but I do hope they're good folders. Legit, no reviews yet on the 2600 cards? Any reason why the hold out?

Re: Official F@H GPU Work Unit Thread

I later found out from mhouston that the 7x00 series GPUs had limited registers, and the looping/branching wasn't robust enough to handle the latest GPU code they wanted to run. http://forum.folding-community.org/ftopic16684-0-asc-120.html "We started originally on NV4X hardware. The hardware w...

According to Stanford, the nvidia 7X00 series GPU's ran the folding code too slowly to be worth while, but I was wondering if anyone has tested it. I would think since they've had it running before it should work fine. The only problem is the part of the code that checks out which card you have runn...

I picked up an E6600 for 269.99 from microcenter in dallas a couple of weeks ago for my Gigabyte 965 DS3 and it's been quite the performer! I OCed it to 3.0 for now but I think I may have some more headroom in it.

With Nvidia bogged down in driver hell with Windows Vista, it may not be on their radar right now. I know Vjay has posted that the 8800 series will be added to the list of folding GPUs as soon as the bugs are worked out.

x1950 Pro

There are a few early benchmarks here on the card. Looks to be similar to a GT with 36 shaders, but probably faster due to the new 80nm process = higher clocks.

Hiya all!

My name is Jeff, ummmmm Grant, and yep, I'm not all that creative when it comes to making screen names. How did you find the forums? Clicked a link on Techreport. - What system are you running? That could be a long one- I have several systems, some AMD, some Intel. One of my favorites right now is a...
