Re: Linux & Drivers Help
That's just a shutdown warning beep that has somehow carried over from the days of old. I've disabled mine by adding blacklist pcspkr the the file /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf because it can get annoying.

Re: Linux & Drivers Help
You're still in the Windows mindset. Ubuntu handles all of the drivers for you, if everything worked after install, which being an eMachine I expect it probably does, then you should be good to go. If not then one of us here or someone over at ubuntuforums should be able to help you set it up. After...

Re: Why Printers Suck A Big One
Not sure about your printer but depending on how your printer detects the level of ink a piece of tape can fix the problem temporarily. http://www.slate.com/id/2198316/ Also, some printers don't have a detector and just keep track of the amount you've printed so you can just pull the cart and reinst...

Re: Sanus Low Profile ELM203 Surge Protector Review
Is your science promoted by retail salesmen - or by someone trained in reality? If a salesman was honest, he could post numeric specs that claim protection from each type of surge. But that protector makes no such claim. No problem. It’s called a surge protector. That proves it must provide surge p...

I first read that as a typo for Imao Mouse Cushion...
My mouse pad has something like this built in, great for daily use but just gets in the way on FPS games.

Re: UPDATE ON THE DTV TRANSITION
I bet the lines are going to be busy this weekend when people lose their analog TV :o Definately, about half of our sales the past couple days have been DTV boxes or antennas. We've had quite a few people pissed of when they find out they need to upgrade their antennas because the ones they've been...

Yeah really. Unless they somehow completely change the game dynamics, this looks like nothing more than a few fresh maps with melee weapons.Dragon_Cooler wrote:Why cant they just add to the first one?!? Seriously!

Yeah, I can coonect to and edit settings on the router just fine, I just can't access the internet through it. I think the router doesn't like my modem for some reason (pos Verizon DSL modem) but I've not had the time to really mess with it a WHOLE lot.

Tomato and Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Router
I'm trying to get a buffalo WHR-HP-G54 to work with the Tomato firmware. I've flash the firmware fine, reset the router, cleared the NVRAM and even tried ipconfig /release followed by ipconfig /renew. The firmware works fine, no crashing or anything, but I still can't get online when hooked up throu...

Re: Time for a new cellphone! Need advice.
Well, to open up your possibilities a bit more, check out Google Sync . It's what I use on my phone and works fairly well. Works on most phones, even some non-smartphones. If that's all you need a smartphone for then there's no real reason for a smartphone. You would need a data plan but if that's a...

Re: Time for a new cellphone! Need advice.
Took a second look and there is a Pantech Matrix Pro (which, naturally, we don't carry at work) and that one is a smart phone running WM6.1 but the regular old Pantech Matrix is not. If there was a good phone with a 3rd party application (like IntelliSync) that would sync my contacts and calander to...
