Re: Intel DX58SO 'Smackover' Motherboard Pictures

Don't spam the board with random related 'keywords', we don't need it. Dan Wrong answer. First off, I don't consider what I asked keyword spam. Secondly, does this board/chipset support ECC? It never ceases to amaze me how a simple question can invoke accusations and hostility. If the comment is no...

Re: Intel DX58SO 'Smackover' Motherboard Pictures

ECC support for the three channels DDR3? I consider all non-ECC boards toys, and any memory without widespread ECC availability "doesn't work" or can't be proven to work reliably.

Re: Intel Planning Skulltrail 2 Platform For Ultimate AMD Ownage

Honestly, the number 1 threat to gaming is the breaking of EAX and Vista SP1/XP64 SP2. Not only did sound go way back in terms of compatibility and capability, the inability to bridge old software to new platforms, such as 64-bit platforms, is a huge gigantic mistake by microsoft. the disgusting thi...

Re: Intel Planning Skulltrail 2 Platform For Ultimate AMD Ownage

Its nice to see platforms from Intel with ECC. Intel should keep ECC/FBDIMMS and not rush to DDR3, which is clearly unusable and broken (until it has ECC, it is unproven cruft). They should dump the nvidia pcie bridge and put in a native dual pci 2.0 x16, and add a bunch of 8xlane pcie slots for rai...

Re: Thinking of Intel

.... My Rules: (That work for me). - Always use ECC memory. If it doesn't support ECC, it doesn't "work." (You wont know and silent errors will kill your system one day). - I always use Intel original made boards. Period. All other vendors are worse at supporting the product, and Intel is...

Re: Corsair Memory Launches DDR3 2000MHz Memory Kits!

No ECC, its not for me. What good is this stuff if it doesn't work. All these companies should offer ECC, you dont have to use it, but man, I know every ECC machine I have is leaps and bounds more stable than ones without. What good is claiming 2000MHZ if you dont have ECC to prove its not causing s...

Re: D975XBX2 yellow bang conflict PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge

Here's another D975XBX2/LSI issue: I'm running a PERC 5/i, which is actually an LSI card, with 6 Seagate 250 GB SATAs on it. 2 are mirrored, and the other 4 are set up as a raid 5. I'm unable to successfully copy large files between the logical disks (XP PRO SP2). When I copy a 15 GB file from one ...

sorry to bump an old thread, but since everyone here is familiar with this board, I thought it would be a good place to ask is there any issue with using an Areca 1220 in the bottom 4x PCI-E slot on the D975XBX2? thanks Three posts up: Greetings Gentlemen, Thanks to some of the advice on this forum...

Re: 975XBX2 Audio Drivers for MS Vista 32

Okay, I give up. Does anyone know which driver I should be using for the 975XBX2 motherboard with Microsoft Vista 32? Currently Intel lists two sets of drivers: 5548v13 (10/10/07) and 5.10.5510.0 (7/10/07). The one in Vista works perfect here. I strongly recommend not installing and special driver ...

Actually, Intel made a good amount of money from it. So I would say it did ok for them. /sarc Marvell just laid off 7% of its workforce (400 people). Its the horrible drivers and pissed off ASIC customers and its dedication to not finishing the job right that makes me sick when I see that double-M....

Re: Intel X38 and X48 chipset based boards are coming

I'm drooling over X38. I'm going to have to wait for DDR3 with ECC though.

However, does anyone here have information on DDR2+ECC on X38? Will the intel boards support it? What are the part numbers for all the known X38 boards?
