Motherboard for Photoshop?
My D975XBX2 died and I need to build a new computer for Photoshop CS6. I would like to use my current ATI FirePro video card and NEC PA241 monitor. Any suggestions for a motherboard and CPU would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone updated the Intel RAID driver to 8.5.0.1032 on a 975XBX2 running Microsoft Vista? If so, how did you do the update and did you have any problems?

Changing Disk Partitions
I have a 975XBX2 running Vista Ultimate 32 with 4 hard drives configured as two RAID 0 drives. Drive 0, the boot drive is partitioned (as C and D). I would like some ideas about how to remove the partition on Drive 0 so that the entire drive is usable as the boot drive (C).

Okay, I give up. Does anyone know which driver I should be using for the 975XBX2 motherboard with Microsoft Vista 32? Currently Intel lists two sets of drivers: 5548v13 (10/10/07) and 5.10.5510.0 (7/10/07).

I used the floppy install in both XP SP2 and Vista Ultimate. The install in Vista Ultimate was a bit problematic, but that is another story. I could not get Vista Ultimate to install when I began with 2 RAID volumes. I needed to remove the drives for the second RAID volume, install the OS then insta...

D975XBX2 Boot Failure
My D975XBX2 system periodically fails to boot, requiring a cold reset followed by 'Start Windows Normally.' Once windows restarts my system starts 'Verifying and Reparing' the raid drives. This has happened with both Windows XP S2 and Windows Vista Ultimate, RAID 0, 1, and 5 configurations and sever...

The reason that I do not use static addressing is related to the licensing on the server. There are two possible modes of licensing -- per seat and per server. If I use per seat I am limited to a total of 5 computers that can connect to the server. If I use per server I am limited to 5 concurrent us...

D975XBX2 - Intel RAID - Windows defrag
It seems that every so often defragmenting the RAID boot drive results in an error which requires either a drive rebuild or system that fails to restart. In some cases the problem requires a re-install of the OS. This happens with both XP and Vista Ultimate. Any thoughts????

Windows Vista APIPA
I am cannot figure out how to make Windows Vista honor a DHCP lease on a small office network with 1 DHCP Server and 1 Gateway. Apparently if Vista cannot find the DHCP Server it sends a request to the Gateway. If the Gateway does not answer, Vista dumps the lease and uses APIPA. Since the APIPA add...

Black Sreeen of Death
Until 2 days ago, my system was working perfectly. Now, when I try to cold boot the system, it runs through the bios settings, the screen turns black and then nothing: no mouse, no keyboard, no Ctrl Alt Del. A cold reset the system reboots until the screen displays: Windows had a problem ... Safe Mo...
