Re: Lost Planet 2 Benchmarking - Radeon 5850 vs GeForce GTX
More so in the past. However, ATi seems bent on not breaking with tradition. They seem to release a lot of bogus drivers that really have no effect on performance or IQ. Seems, just to say they release updates monthly. But yes, usually after a new game comes out they release a "Hotfix&quo...

Re: Lost Planet 2 Benchmarking - Radeon 5850 vs GeForce GTX
Just for reference. I got 38.6 FPS Average with a Q6600@ 3.2Ghz and an HD 5870 at stock speeds. 1920x1200. No aa. VSYNC off. Everything else on high. Test 'A'. I wasn't at all impressed by the looks of this "game" though I must say. Some of it was nice. But I still haven't found a game tha...

Re: Output to TV ?
It should be virtually plug'n'play. Is your monitor 16:10 or 16:9? You may have to run the same res/aspect ratio on your monitor to use both iirc. That was back when I had my X1950 Pro hooked up to my Syncmaster 24" and LG 52" HDTV at the same time via DVI>HDMI adapter.

Your right! Some of us have 24" monitors and game @ 1920x1200.Apoptosis wrote:We run 1280 x 1024 as that resolution is still rather popular for gaming around the world. Not many people have 30" monitors.

Re: Are ATI Radeon HD Graphics Cards Driver Cheating?
Reflecting on what geokiller brought up, I was thinking the rather short lived DX 10.1 may have been the problem as games that used it didn't seem to work the way it was intended. Think of Assassins Creed for example. Iirc, it was missing some dust clouds under 10.1.

I too have called them A-sys, for a decade. I'm not about to change it either.

Re: Are ATI Radeon HD Graphics Cards Driver Cheating?
This is not the same thing geokilla. Nothing is missing that I noticed. Further, as Apoptosis noted: NVIDIA has a number of render issues also, so don't think this is just an ATI problem... I'm just picking this as an example as I benchmarked a number of cards yesterday and saw this issue and the fa...

Re: Are ATI Radeon HD Graphics Cards Driver Cheating?
This piqued my curiosity a little. Shift is the only game I have of those mentioned installed right now so I took a couple of shots. The one with AI on seems a little brighter than with it off. Aside from that I couldn't see anything I would consider to be degraded.

Re: Gigabyte GHOST M8000X Gaming Mouse Review
The problem lies in its lubrication, and can easily be fixed temporarily by using it very heavily rolling it back and forth for a few seconds. This quick fix only lasts for about 10hrs. I have yet to take the mouse apart to look at how the wheel is attached and if it can be repaired permanently wit...

I would stick with the 98's until 9.12's come out. I'm using the 9.11's. Their decent but nothing special.

Re: Any other Vista user have a problem with Windows 7
I think Win7 is going to be the Obama of OS's. Lotsa, well, nothing special after all. They have fixed a few minor niggles but at the end of the day there is nothing to really prompt me from moving from Vista to 7.

English is not your first language is it? Sounds like you may be suffering from input lag. Try ATI Tools to set Flip Queue Size. Take a look at this guide.

Re: AMD DirectX11 White Paper Released
The way things are done these days, porting to PC from console thus dumbing it down, we will not see the advantages of DX 11 for a very long time. Just take a look at the recent past. The best anyone has been able to do for DX 10 is Crysis. That was imo a good effort but it was still a long way off ...
