Re: BOOTMGR Issue

Simple- if you load up msconfig.exe in the start/run box, go to the boot tab it should list both and you can just delete the entry for the other drive (it is just deleting the registry key for the other drive), it found both because you must have had the old drive in it at the time you installed Win...

LOVE the re-wired power switch and connector :P

Moving the PSU just allowed you to have any style CPU heatsink right?

Re: Project Overdrive

always nice to see some modding, the extent of modding on my own PC is just cut out fan grills and holes drilled through the motherboard tray

Can't wait to see it with some hardware inside 8)

Re: LGA1366 Overclock Log

Through an unfortunate circumstance, I have now acquired an HP 3770k-based system and grabbed an Asrock Extreme4 to go with it for my main rig, so the Lapped W3520 and all my shiny X58 gear will be heading off to ebay 4.6g.jpg Quite surprised to see the difference in GFlops between the 4.2GHz W3520 ...

Re: Corsair CS450M Power Supply Review

Good read I think i'll stick with the CX430 line, may not have quite as good performance or specs, but I usually get them $50 which you can't complain about! (Still have my first Corsair in operation from 2008 (TX750 with a few connectors melted off when I blew a Gigabyte board a couple years ago) y...

Re: desk that doubles as a pc case!

that doesn't really exist outside of finding some guy that happens to know woodworking and PC building (I would be one, but doubt you'd want to ship a desk from my side of the pond ;) )

At least that I know of, sorry

but if you could find a desk case, it would be very expensive

Re: Adding a SATAIII Controller Card

I think most of your problem is the apps that load at boot then, primarily your AV. I personally only run AV scans if I can already tell I have a virus, which is rare but I'm the only one that uses my PC (Built a separate one for the Fiancee to play the Sims :) ) Why would you load Aida64 at boot? I...

Re: Adding a SATAIII Controller Card

not sure if you've already gotten it, but I had a SATA III controller in my i7 system, it has great read speeds, but write speeds were in the neighborhood of 6MB/s lol I installed windows to it and then pulled it out of my system- the cheap ones don't seem to work

Re: LGA1366 Overclock Log

2Ghz OC = AWESOME! Indeed :) Stick the system out in the garage when it's cold as ballz outside. Also put a small house fan blowing on the motherboard/CPU and go nuts. Wouldn't be the first time, but I usually stick the pc in the window instead- I plan to use the basement for some Windows and doors...

Re: WTB: LGA775 board

Ended up going for a P5QL Pro off ebay; 6 SATA ports, 4 DIMM, 2 PCIe 1x for my USB3 card and maybe add a Raid card down the road

Wish me luck!

Was going to say, to load the drive in another PC to see if you could run diagnostics (CrystalDiskInfo) or a MalwareByte's scan

WTB: LGA775 board

Hey all, looking for a 775 board for my server, I have been using an optiplex 755, but I want flexibility to add more hard drives (Currently using 4 of 4 ports on this thing including the DVD rom) Needs to support a Q9300 and can be either DDR2 or DDR3, no Intel branded boards and a preference to Gi...
