DQ77MK and SRT Setup Question
I have a DQ77MK and I am interested in SRT. This Motherboard is equipped with a PCI Express Full-/Half-Mini Card slot. 1. Can I use this slot for a SSD? 2. If so, where and what do I purchase? 3. I have two Hard-drives now, will that be a problem setting up SRT? My hard-drives are not Raid. Just C a...

Re: DG33BU Upgrade Questions
I went with a Corsair A50 because that's all I could get in town.
My idle temperature dropped from 58C to 39C.
My heavy use temperature dropped from 76C to 42C.
What a difference!

Re: DG33BU Upgrade Questions
Looks like I'll need that cooler you mentioned. I just processed a batch of photos with a CPU intensive application and my CPU got to 76C.
Specs call for 71.4C max.
The stock cooler isn't cutt'n it.

DG33BU & Q9550 Install Experience
I dropped a Q9550 in my DG33BU. Upon first boot I went into BIOS and checked bus speed etc, and did an Exit / Save. My machine would not Warm Boot. Shut it down and did a Cold Boot into Windows. Tried a Restart from Windows and again it would not Warm Boot. On a hunch, I Re-flashed my Bios a...

Q9550 Install Question
I notice that the Intel Heatsink for my new Q9550 doesn't have any thermal grease.
The instructions doesn't mention any.
Should I get some?
Thanks,
Bill

Re: DG33BU Upgrade Questions
Thanks for the tips. 1. My Bios is up to date 2. I have two 120mm Case Fans: one in front and one in the rear. They blow air across the Motherboard from front to back. Right now they are on low speed. I think I'll try bumping them up to medium and monitor my CPU temp. Plus, my power supply has two f...

DG33BU Upgrade Questions
I plan to drop a Q9550 processor in my DG33BU. Has anybody tried this combination? The Q9550 is a approved processor for this board. I was wondering if there were any issues: Heat? Setup? Etc? I am going to use the Intel cooler that comes with the processor. Does the Bios automatically set the FSB? ...

Re: eSATA is it Plug and Play?
I figured it out.
All I had to do is go into regedit and change the start value on Msahci to 0.
Then boot to Bios and change the IDE mode to AHCI.
When I booted to Win 7 the drivers loaded and now my eSATA drive can be turned on or off while in Windows.
This is cool....

Re: eSATA is it Plug and Play?
Help me think this through.. Here's Microsoft's instructiuons: To resolve this issue, enable the AHCI driver in the registry before you change the SATA mode of the boot drive. To do this, follow these steps: Exit all Windows-based programs. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then...

Re: eSATA is it Plug and Play?
oops. enabling AHCI crashed my machine. Win 7 repaired itself after I went back into bios and restored IDE. I think you need to install windows with AHCI enabled. I found a few web-posts with instructions to enable AHCI on the fly. complicated..... I'm sticking with IDE for now. I turn my eSATA driv...

Re: Intel Socket 775 MO w/ USB 3.0?
There's PCIE cards...
Heard any problems running two PCIE cards?
I have a video card in my PCIEx16 slot.
They make USB 3.0 PCIEx1 cards.
Other than getting to the PCIEX1 slot because the video card covers it, have heard of any conflicts running both slots?

Can I put a video card in this slot with more than 256 megs?
Thanks,

Stand By and Hibernation Modes Dangerous?
Are Stand By and Hibernation Modes hard on your system? MoBo - DG965SS Yesterday I accidentally pressed a button on my keyboard that put my system into either Stand By or Hibernation. I didn't know I had this button.....never pressed it before. Windows XP displayed "Preparing to Shut Down"...
