Re: ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
Well well well it seems that there is a happy ending to this story. I got a new card in just last night 12-04-13. I'm glad that ASUS has decided to exchange the card. While not the greatest warranty experience ever it has at least concluded with me receiving a working replacement. Well I assume work...

Re: ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
After making enough noise I have a rep that is sending me a shipping label to RMA it. I reattached the heat sink to the card and will be shipping it back. I'm just glad I was able to find the card. I could have sworn I had tossed it. There is just too much hoarder in me to toss anything away.

Re: ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
Well the response that I got from upper management is pretty much what I thought it would be. In any case while I was going through my basement I did happen to find the card I thought I had tossed but I had removed the heat sink to try and use it on another card but the holes were off just a hair. J...

Re: ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
Well, nothing from management. I guess from now on when teaching classes and giving advice I'll let them all know what to expect from Asus.

ASUS and RMAs (Just how long does it take?)
It takes more than a year and a half to hear back from them. Back on 2-20-2012 (like the date?), I filed a RMA on a Graphic Card ENGT240 Series. After not hearing from them or getting any e-mails after filling out the form I checked my spam bin found it empty and called them. After being on hold a f...

Re: Bonus is in soooo a GTX 680 or an AMD 7970?
I have got it up and running. I just had time to pop into a few games to see how it runs and that was it last night. But from what I have seen so far it runs really nice I can't wait though to see how the new drivers work with it. I did notice some stuttering in DDO that the beta drivers from the 9t...

Re: Bonus is in soooo a GTX 680 or an AMD 7970?
Well so far it seems that the GTX 680 is the way to go. But yeah so far I've found a few snowballs here in Hell but no GTX 680s.

Bonus is in soooo a GTX 680 or an AMD 7970?
I'm just not sure what one to get. I know both are great for gaming but I was going to let the Folding@Home be the tie breaker here. However there isn't a working folding client for the GTX 680 yet. I'm leaning toward the GTX 680 but I can't seem to find any in stock any where. Then there is the pro...

Re: Windows 8 is MS Bob 2.0
It is a reg hack to turn it off but when you do you disable some needed functionality. I can't remember what though as I haven't tried using that but so far Microsoft has stated emphatically that Bob 2 is going to everyone with no exceptions.

Windows 8 is MS Bob 2.0
Windows 8 is the next MS Bob. It is horrible for corporate use. Really this is trying to make Windows into a Playskool computer and make it all touchy-feely. The entitled, spoiled brat, hipsters on the committee that came up with this worthless sack of BS need to know that we don't want this. I move...

Re: GoldKey USB Data Security Token Review
You have to wonder.... One key to rule them all, one key to find them,
One key to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.
You have to figure that someone made the one key.

Re: Bigfoot Networks Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card Review
True and most of us haven't got some uber system to play with so I wonder how well the Killer 2100 would do on an older system vs Leatrix.

Re: Bigfoot Networks Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card Review
It worked the same for XP, Vista 64 and Windows 7 64 bit. All three showed a huge improvement with the latency fix. XP though showed the biggest improvement.

Re: Bigfoot Networks Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card Review
True but then for me my lag went from 300-330 down to 30-40. So your mileage may vary. I might add that I'm in South Dakota and far from any game server.

Re: Bigfoot Networks Killer 2100 Gaming Network Card Review
The big issue that doesn't seem to be mentioned at all here is the fact that the network settings for optimal gaming are different than for optimal office use (ie Windows default). To quote from Leatrix: "Online games generally use the TCP protocol which requires that network segments sent to y...

yeah, floppies came to save my bacon, however I have been told that it is supposed to work with USB as well but that it hasn't been tested.

Re: Well I R broked it
Cleared with jumper, cleared with removing the battery, none of that worked. However this board evidently has a "blind BIOS load mode" that isn't documented anywhere. You do it off floppy. When I tried it though it didn't work. But later I got to thinking about how many floppies I have had...
