Re: Memory bandwidth tests... differences (PC5300 vs. PC8888)
This is a good post but it is really hard to say that as its posted would be grounds to purchase one or the other, maybe I am missing your point of that post. I mean the CPU FSB will always play a role in memory performance and running these tests with the CPU at a specific setting to show the diffe...

Re: Triple-Channel Memory Coming With Intel X58 Express Chipsets
by largon on Thu Jun 05, 2008 10:41 pm I bet those memory module builders are simultaneously exited and terrified by trichannel. You're looking at increased sales but also, a nasty RMA problem; people buy trichannel kits and as always, there will be faulty modules... Now, instead of 2 stick going b...

Re: A few questions about memory timings
In many MB's now if you add more than two modules you might have to run the memory at more relaxed settings and or a slower frequency because of strain on the memory controller. If it were me and you have not decided yet I would save the money for a new MB and Memory, maybe going to a new DDR2 or DD...

As far as I know ASUS is still the largest of all of these with more than 50 Million MB's a month the closest one of this group is about 15-18 Million as of last December.

Re: MoBo will not boot
This chipset was problem matic to manufacture as I remember and normall when they worked they worked well but when they did not it was cut and dry. I would suggest testing the CPU's in any socket A MB just to be sure they are working. To bad cause I just got rid of a Dual Socket A ASUS MB.

4 modules will run in that MB but you might have to run the memory at DDR800 with 4 installed and they would need to match.
You can get more help with the settings for four modules at http://www.asktheramguy.com

If you want to over clock the CPU I would leave the memory at DDR667 but you should be able to set the memory at DDR800, what slots do you have the modules in?

Re: same model memory, but still different somehow
You might try increasing the NB Voltage and the CPU Voltage about .2-.5 volts and or just set the memory frequency at DDR667.
