Re: Would like to upgrade CPU what is the best one?
It's a bit more pricey but i'd hold out for the 2011 socket the lower priced models are due out after the first of the year. They've been changing sockets so often (LGA775, 1366, 1155, 1156, 2011) that to get the best longevity and performance 2011 makes sense. If it's not in the budget 1155 does ru...

Re: Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB SSD Review
Yea after I said that I saw it was the desktop kit.
This was a laptop kit, on an ICH9R
Wasn't spectacular but decent for a Value based JMicron 602 reprogrammed controller. Lack of cache hurts it some.

Re: Kingston SSDNow V Series 128GB SSD Review
Minor mistake in the SSDNow review, Conclusion page. "When it comes to storage capacity the OCZ Vertex SSD has a free capacity of 119GB as shown above. This should be enough for many consumers, and in the server and enterprise environments many of these will be run in RAID arrays" Probably...

Re: Gigabyte VS. Asus
I've got both those specific boards and I gotta say I like the Asus board better. Easier to OC, XMP profiles work a lot better, Express Gate utility at bootup, had my 965 Extreme up to 3.74 in about 20 minutes. The Giga board I fought my Dominator 1866 6 gb kit for about 2 days to get it stable. Asu...

Re: Corsair Dominator 1600MHz 6GB Triple-Channel Memory Kit
The performance difference your seeing with the Kingston/Corsair comparison will all but disappear if you compare the 6GB kit of Corsair to a 6Gb kit of Kingston. I have both kits in the 6GB flavor and performance is so close together that they could be brothers. I also have the 3 GB Kingston kit an...

XFX is adding ATI to their Line
Yes it's true XFX is releasing a line of ATI cards in January, I'm betting the first non-review samples will be showing up at CES.
http://www.xfxforce.com/en-us/features/ati.aspx Check it out here.
5 Star support will be featured in the new line.

Pull the CPU and Battery for about 2 hours and try again.
Put the CPU back in first then the battery.

Re: AMD or Nvidia
Nvidia has the new 180.43 drivers for FarCry 2 out, their just SLI improved for FarCry 2 but they will soon be full fledged for all games. I'm seeing great scaling so far, as much as 80-85% on GTX-260's, I tested a single GTX-280 and will be testing 280's in SLI today but I expect them to scale as w...

Re: Modding a Car Makes it Illegal in Missouri?
I've been in Missouri all my life and never heard about anyone getting a ticket for excessive horsepower. We used to build some monster muscle cars at my uncles shop and he had the contract for maintenance on City vehicles with Cops in and out all the time and it never came into question that we wer...

I have a couple sets that will run with 1.6 @ 1600 but Intel includes ram with the Nehelam kits so I shouldn't have a problem.

Last time I browsed any files was fixing a HP Pavilion, was recovering files for a reload.
She turned out to be 400+ Lbs and not afraid to show it. I did an internet search for mind wipe but unfortunately all I could find was lobotomy and I wasn't quite there yet.

Re: Please help newbie do P3 upgrade for MEB-VM
I'd stop tossing money at it. For a couple of hundred you can throw in a P35 board and an E-2180 with a decent set of ram and it'd put that rig in the dirt.

Re: budget OC chipset?
I've run 3 of the P45 chipset boards and I have to tell you I'm a lot happier with them than my old P35 chipset Asus P5KC. Their Gigabyte P45 chipset boards (EP45-DQ6, EP45-Extreme, and EP45T-Extreme), on the 2 ddr2 boards with certain types of ram I had to undervolt the ram by as much as .2v but on...

Re: will it fit?
Internal I'd say dual 120 maybe top mount, external any size. I usually run full towers and fitting a dual rad in there would be a chore.
Triples mount nicely in the back with hoses running through the bottom expansions.

Re: NVIDIA NVISION 08 Spolied By Protestors
I've only seen one way they pay, the institution pays the in house workers but the workers answer to Aramark. (and some times the institution if things go south) When I was on my Hospital tour (from Missouri to South Carolina) they were removed from about 20% of the institutions I worked with. Mostl...

Re: NVIDIA NVISION 08 Spolied By Protestors
Aramark is a contract food service vendor that does a lot of catering and hospitals and institutions including backstage accommodation for some movies on location filming. I worked with them at a local hospital when I was in IT there. During labor disputes they can be quite nasty. What gets me is th...

Re: 4870x2 or xfire 4870
I've run the 4870, 4850, 4850 Toxic, and the GTX-260 (I've got all 4). The 4870 runs real close to the GTX-260 and just under the GTX-280 when OCed and cooled with the CCC fan trick. But OC the GTX-280 and it pulls away a little. Put a 4870 and a 4850 Toxic in Crossfire (on a P45 board) and the benc...
