Looking to upgrade GPU

Currently using 2 AMD Radeon HD 6970's. One from XFX and the other from Sapphire. They perform ok but get really loud when I am gaming (they are reference designs so no third party coolers :( ) so would love to replace them with either a similar performing or better current generation gpu. Also I am...

Best graphics card?

My buddy has a Dell Dimension E520 with a 305W PSU. It currently uses a ATi Radeon X1300 Pro 128MB video card. What is the best video card he can use without changing anything.

What to upgrade first?

I am looking to upgrade my rig. It currently uses an Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16GHz, 8GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, and an ATi Radeon HD 4870 1GB. I have been feeling it has not been performing well in some games I play such as Battlefield Bad Company 2. I mainly game at 1680x1050, but can use my tv which i...

Re: Can anyone identify this wire?

Thanks for the replies. The card is actually bad we believe. Gonna be replacing it with a card that doesnt have HDMI. Can I just disconnect the wire then?

Can anyone identify this wire?

This is a picture of a friend's Dell Studio 540. What is that wire seemingly going from the graphics card to the motherboard that is taped on the left side to the case.

Re: power supply upgrade for dell dimension e520

Hello again, I'm concerned about the comment made by FZ1 that most if not all Dell PSU's use proprietary connectors, and I did look at PC Power and Cooling site to look at their dell psu's. Can anyone verify this? I am leaning towards the psu that was recommended, the Corsair 620HX, just gotta figur...

power supply upgrade for dell dimension e520

I got a Dell Dimension E520, I plan on upgrading the video card from a ATi X1300 Pro 256MB to a XFX Nvidia Geforce 8800GT 512MB, the power supply it came with is only a 305W PSU. What PSU would you guys recommend? It also has an Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 2.13 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, a 500GB HDD, a dvd burner...
