Re: ASUS A88X-PRO Stability Issues
Knew I hated memtest. The whole issue was the ram. Was not able to get the Corsair modules functioning at 1866 even though the modules were on the official compatibility list. Finally a 24Hr+ run was achieved when the ram was set at 1333. CPU Freq - 3.4GHz CPU - 1.13125v VDDNB - 1.01250v DRAM - 1.50...

Re: ASUS A88X-PRO Stability Issues
Managed a 4 hour run last night. Voltages: CPU - 1.15625 VDDNB - 1.01250 DRAM - 1.53000 Default voltages: CPU - 1.33750 VDDNB - 1.13750 DRAM - 1.50000 The ram may be on the official compatibility list but the XMP settings are for Intel equipment. Should not make a difference but yet it does. There a...

Re: ASUS A88X-PRO Stability Issues
Update: After hitting yet another wall, started working through bioses, found that the best one was the latest one; 1602. Only option after that, looked into Prime95. Was running the latest, version 28.5. Have scrapped that version in favor of the one before that, version 27.9. The frustration. All ...

Finally found this on XtremeSytems: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?275891-Bulldozer-Overclocking-Guide-(Performance-Scaling-Charts-max-OCs)LN2-Results-coming! Now everything is heading in the right direction. This and finding out that my chip's NB frequency of 1800 loves just 1.0...

Re: ASUS A88X-PRO Stability Issues
Thanks for the link. Spent all weekend at the attempt. Followed their methodology but still no luck. Not one single review, online article, or forum contribution (that I have read) has revealed what their settings were for the NB frequency or voltage. Overclockers was not of use either. Something is...

Re: Google Chromecast Review – Easy Wireless Streaming
The Chromecast had only half the ability to allow the television to know that the input needs to be changed. It is a setting for the HDMI interface. Our years old Samsung 5 series LCD from 2009 supports SmartLink. Combine that with a device hooked up by HDMI that also supports SmartLink and the magi...

Re: Netgear A6200 802.11ac USB Wi-Fi Adapter Review
When in the same room was able to connect at 866.5. There was an anomaly when I set the computer back up in it's place. Was able to get a fairly stable connection at 351 on the ac (5GHz) band. Was shortlived though. stuck at 243 again. Like you mentioned, looks like I am going to have to play with r...

Re: Netgear A6200 802.11ac USB Wi-Fi Adapter Review
Sorry, forgot to mention the channel frequency. According to both the genie software and the window's utility I only have two choices to connect to; The 2.4 GHz band or the 5Ghz band. The 2.4 band maxes out at 300. The 5Ghz band cannot get it to budge over the 243. I have yet to try the adapter on t...

Re: Netgear A6200 802.11ac USB Wi-Fi Adapter Review
I have been playing around with this adapter for over two weeks now. I also have it pared with an R6300 as in the stated review. The pc it is connected to, the signal travels through two walls and is like thirty-five feet from the router. No matter what the router and adapter setting are, I cannot g...

Re: OCZ Technology Updates Investors on Restatement Progress
There is nothing complex about those accounting blunders. This only highlights incompetent accounting personnel, lack of accounting personnel, or auditors would not look the other way anymore. My bet is a combination of the latter two. Incompetent accounting personnel should have been weeded out dur...

What aboyt Sly Fox? Also what has worked in the past is my old XP rig that has never been updated past SP2. Would use NERO to burn from disc-to-disc.

Re: Outlook.com quagmire
I do not know the reason to use such accounts since my isp offers e-mail that can be accessed from the web. My reasoning has been, why use even MS Outlook that is included with office, when the isp's html version does everything I need it to. Hence I have saved myself from going through what you hav...

Re: Using a Wireless Router as an Access Point
I feel your pain. Charter replaced my D-Link DC-202 cable modem with that same Cisco / Lynksis one. If you look at the reviews on that modem, the majority are not all that favorable. Since they are no longer charging a rental fee for the modem decided to try it. Managed to get Charter to exchange th...

Was expecting this since the Blackberry Z10 was launched. Put it on the playing field as the iphone plans so no one can call foul.

Must have been a price typo on Amazon's part. The link currently states the price at $349.99.

Re: XP SP3 Issue
@egloeckle: All exe files run without issue. The only issues are exactly as stated. If right clicked on the shortcut and then clicked properties and then find target, the program could then be lauched from the exe file. It was just that by clicking on the shortcut produced no results. Will try runni...
