Re: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell 3.5GHz Quad-Core CPU Review

Doesn't look all that impressive. Runs very hot just like the Ivy Bridge. I'm getting 4.5 GHz with a cheesy $20 cooler on my 2600K. This seems to have only about 10% performance boost over the 2600K and it's 15% more and you need a new MoBo. The new onboard graphics are good but who'd a chip ...

Re: Intel 525 Series mSATA SSD Performance Roundup

Is that a haiku? Probably Just doodoo. When getting ready to make the SSD jump a year ago, started researching customer satisfaction on NewEgg. Was flabbergasted to see the number of SSDs that were dying in the first year. Intel and Samsung were the safest bet at that time and so got a Samsun...

Re: Intel 525 Series mSATA SSD Performance Roundup

Thank you for the thorough review.
It's nice to keep on top of SSD innovation.
It appears from the customer satisfaction ratings,
Intel continues to offer SSDs that are a cut above for useful life too.

Gigabyte z77-d3h overclocking

Built new system. Successfully overclocked 2600k to 4.7 Ghz using turbo (drops to 1.6 Ghz in idle.) Auto voltage way to high, 1.5+v (around 1v at idle) Easily OC's to 4.7 Ghz at 1.4 volts, but would like to limit the Auto Volt to 1.4v so that the idle voltage drops too. Is there any setting to limit...

Re: UDF only on older Gigabyte MoBo

Are you asking how to create a bootable Windows 7 DVD or how to create an ISO. Sorry couldn't quite tell. Know how to make ISO/DVD/boot thumbdrive. My concern is the early Gigabyte "sort-of UDF" bios. The dos prompt oscbimg.exe program that makes the ISO has options to create a UDF ONLY I...

UDF only on older Gigabyte MoBo

Friends Creating and ISO from student d/l Win 7 promotion. Have a Gigabyte ep45 ud3p MoBo. The process is to run oscdimg.exe to create ISO. My question is should I create an image that has both the UDF file system and the ISO 9660 file system OR UDF only version (as it seems everyone else is doing) ...

Re: Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer CPU Water Cooler Review

H2O on the cheap - and great results.
The nest rig will have 4 ram chips and big air coolers can be a hassle.
An affordable answer that clears up the volume in the case.

Re: Intel Core i7-3370K 'Ivy Bridge' Overclocked Benchmarkin

Nice thoughtful review Dan. It’s running too hot. Was wondering in regards to the infamous TIM issue: With these high temps, the IHS is bound to be expanding and contracting. With the chip no longer attached (soldered) to the IHS, thinking that the TIM may, at least, partially fail over time...

The Seven Up can was a perfect prop, what a monster!
Thanks for the review.
Liquid cooling gets you 6 degrees, why bother.
Must be a benefit having all those extra fans in the case too (assuming they not vibrating too much :) )

Would have been interesting to see what happened
when you turned on Physx.
Finally made Metro playable at 19x10, that's about it; the rest, way overkill.

Re: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 Video Card Review

Thank you for the great review!
Well I wouldn't call it crippled, but the memory controller IMO is an issue.
Nice cool card.
What most impressed me was the video/TXAA/and the new more destructible Physx.
Combined, these make for more playable and realistic gaming, boom factor.
