Re: Summer on it's way

so cooled down over here. 20-22c during the day so far and it's lovely. however, warning for 40c+ coming due to increased very high pressure. not looking forward to that at all :(

Re: Summer on it's way

yeah, the humidity will ramp up over the next few weeks here and stick around through August mid September. When AC is acting up I am thankful for the whole house attic fan. Crack a couple windows and kick on the fan, puts the whole house into a vacuum and cools things down. Vid of old school versi...

Re: Summer on it's way

this time of year, overnights can go as low as 56F(13C) and daily highs of 90F(32C) today is supposed to be a pleasant high of 80(26C) 60%-ish humidity, but by the end of the week will be back up to 92F(33C) Next month the suck rolls in and sticks around until end of August, and the high humidity a...

Summer on it's way

So, in the UK we are getting 28-32c at the moment and have had some extreme rain and thunderstorms. One said thunderstorm blew through a flat opposite my house and caught fire at 5am. What are the temps and weather system by you?

Re: What a steal!

Nice - is that a deal over there? Here the 670p 2tb is $80. Don't think I have seen the other one yet...solidigm. I will have to look it up and see! Amazing how far these have fallen in price. Not a deal. Standard price. On sale maybe £65-£70 based on usual 10-20% off sales that we seem to have a l...

What a steal!

So I bagged myself a brand new intel 670p 2tb or should I say Solidigm 670p 2tb (intel sold it's SSD business to SK Hynix and they formed Solidigm from it) for £80/$100. That's cheaper than my wd blue 2tb m.2 sata SSD brand new. Speeds are quite good as well for the price. In fact price/performance ...

Re: Curiosity

For some scale, Nebraska is just slightly smaller than the UK. Michigan is closest to same size. Population wise, Nebraska around 24 people per square mile, UK is over 700 per square mile. The big companies don't care about updating rural spaces. Not enough people per mile to be "worth it"...

Re: Curiosity

This is weird. only a few years ago, the UK was behind on fibre broadband and 5g integration. Now we have 1gbps FTTP (fibre to the premises) instead of 80mbps FTTC (fibre to the cabinet) and 5g pushing the max 1gbps we currently have available. Then a recent law added by the government that all new ...

Increase rent and covid will soon vacate. Most landlords are doing that in the UK to get unwanted tenants out. Might work for you :)
