Re: Post Your HTPC
I'll post pics soon, but they won't be pretty. It's a work in progress, since it's basically my old system that I'm converting to a HTPC. Still need to get a new case and a BR drive. Re: Corsair Memory Designs Enthusiast ATX Case
Well I think I found my next case. :D Man I've been wanting to do watercooling for a long time. I might actually do it on my Ci7. My wife is not going to be happy about me spending more money on my computer. I better make sure I get my raise before I start buying a new case and watercooling.

Re: Verbatim Announces TUFF-’N’-TINY Line of USB Drives
I never knew Verbatim was out of Charlotte, NC.
It's definitely a cool product, but I'm like alot of people and I'll lose something that small. There's a reason I went for the heaviest wedding ring available (tungsten) and a nice metal casing flash drive (OCZ Rally2).

Nice! I'll wait for prices to fall a bit before I grab one of these though. I will need an update soon though as my 16GB is starting to get full.

Re: Mobo for a Quad Core i7 920
I just bought the evga X58 SLI LE. I haven't finished getting my components yet though so it's not built. The reviews I've read on it so far have been very favorable though and it was the best IMO in that price range. I almost didn't get it because it will only take 12GB, but I figured the likelyhoo...

Re: AMD's New six-Core processors??
More cores is always good for virtualization. I'd love 4 of those in a nice Dell R905 with 128GB of RAM. That would handle a few VMs.

Anyone know a way to do this in Vista/7? I've love to add my own graphic to my custom PCs.

Re: Charter Implementing New Cable Download Caps For All Users
I finally started measuring my usage with BitMeter and I usually average about 100-150GB per month. January I went a little crazy(got a new HD) and hit about 400GB down and 150GB up. That's with my pathetic 512kb up speed. I have TW Cable and they haven't complained. I pay for 10/.5 and I have gotte...

I usually have about 20-30 tabs open. Maybe close to 10 are work related, the other 10-20 are messageboard threads.

Re: Quick domain question
You have to buy/register the domain name somewhere, whether it's Go Daddy, Yahoo, Network Solutions, etc. But without a registered domain name you're not going to get anything resolving to a site except internally. Domains are cheap if they're unregistered. It's usually about $10 a year, with discou...

Re: dual-core vs. Quad-core
The reason I decided to go Quad was video encoding. I have been doing a lot of video encoding lately and I noticed a huge difference over my C2D E6750 @ 3.8Ghz. With everything else I've noticed little to no change. Video encoding is one thing that really takes advantage of lots of cores. But hones...

Re: Windows 7 Thoughts?
I love it. I have it dual booted on my desktop but will be switching it over to WIn 7 completely here real soon. I also installed it on my work laptop and it runs great. I am very impressed at how polished it is for a first beta. M$ really got it right on this one. I liked Vista but it does have it'...

Re: buying a new processor but no idea what to do
Definitely save up to get a new one, or look at eBay for what's in your price range. It's really not going to be worth it (IMO) to track down a cpu for your old laptop. If you don't do much but browse the internet you might want to look at one of the Netbooks. They're small and light and are great f...
