Re: SSD space disappearing?

Ok, https://windirstat.net/ That should let you see which directory/etc is big. You can also check your temp folder ( open a cmd window and type ECHO %Temp% to get the exact location of your windows temp folder if you dont know it ), hibernate file and pagefile (both of those should be in the root d...

Re: SSD space disappearing?

Drive indexing? - find the windows.edb file and see how big that puppy is. You may have to stop the indexing service to delete the file or else restart in safe mode to do it. It will rebuild itself as maybe it got stuck on something and just went crazy (like Windows doesn't do that on a daily basis)...

Re: The Best GPU For Ethereum Mining – NVIDIA and AMD Tested

So at $13,000 a year with 7 gpus then subtract what everything cost up front (case, cards, etc) and you are left with about $1.34 LOL Exaggerating a little bit but unless you have stuff laying around to use, it seems like a huge gamble to spend this much money (and if you have that much money laying...

I know!!!!! I cant wait till they are out in the wild and being tested against the Ryzen!

My i7-3770k is still chugging along though so I doubt I will get one but it is fun to see the competition, if there is any. Plus I want a 3d printer 8)

Re: Windows 10 and quick access new window issues

From what I have read the windows/cc headbutting has been an issue for some (not all) CC users for 2 years. Both sides say issue is due to the other. I'm leaning Adobe, because the issue seems to popup after using an export option in Photoshop. The issue repeated on my laptop (also windows 10), rol...

Re: Windows 10 and quick access new window issues

Wonder how those REG hacks hold up when new point releases of Windows drop... That is always the 1billion dollar question isn't it. Would be interesting to try installing the cc updates before the windows ones and see if you have the problem and if not, then install the windows ones. Maybe it is a ...

Re: GeForce GTX 260 Died Need Suggestions For Replacement

AMD RX460 - I saw it for $90 - I know, $15 more lol This is DX12 though too. Ok found this - https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202269 - rx460 for $80 then you get a $10 mail in rebate so it's $70 - BOOM oh shipping is $4 so it is $1 below your price after rebate =D> You are t...

Re: I see you guys have slowed down a bit. crypto mining anyone?

I look at it as it covers my entire AC bill. My bill with mining, using AC. Fridge, stove, oven, toaster oven etc. All stays about 80 per month and the PC covers it. Last March my bill was 70 and I don't think it was as hot as this year. This year was 89. I don't think the total cost will go above ...

Re: Win 10 Startup Error Messege

I would check the list of programs that are starting with windows itself in msconfig and see if one looks troubling (malware, etc). If not I would try and load each of the programs manually (should not be that many) until that error shows. From what I was reading it can be cause by a 32bit dll in a ...

How much extra power is it drawing and costing on your electric bill though?

90 a month seems too small to worry about to me...Now if you could make $3000+ a month I would be all on board!

Re: A New Media Center (For A New Age)

Explanations are my low point, sorry! I meant that plex is worthless to me since it (like you said) does not trans-code when you have enough bandwidth and when you don't have the bandwidth it just looks awful to me on my 50" plasma, which is still only 720p. I could get a better encode from han...

Re: A New Media Center (For A New Age)

I tell people to avoid Tivo and Plex :-k

I dont like plex just because it degrades the quality and is worthless on a home network when you have DLNA.

I hope it works great for you!!!

I love MakeMKV. I have not bought it yet, just keep using the free key they provide while in beta.

Re: I see you guys have slowed down a bit. crypto mining anyone?

Still around just forums have slowed down. I have never done any mining at all. I used to do the folding@home project back in the day but that was all. I always thought mining was something for people who already had a lot of computers to try and get money rather than a single computer. Just doesn't...

Personally... I think this should be an OEM focused product that is pushed onto Dell, HP, ASUS and those guys for pre-built systems. It does make a nice upgrade for budget HDD based systems. It's just not a product for the DIY PC builder that knows what they are doing. *drops mic* Hell yes, that wo...

Now for a video/photo compression/editing comparison! Plus real world business apps like LibreOffice/Excel/etc. Also, why are people shouting AMD? The Intel cpu is cheaper and hangs right with it....... I was really excited for Ryzen at first but it seems only the very high end chip (1800 I think) c...

I commented on the review also and probably will piss Intel off but it is priced WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too high to be worthwhile for anything but a system you already have built but decided not to put a SSD in it. Price of lower capacity SSD drives is lower than these modules and you could use it the sa...
