Re: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-Core 65W Processor Review

It's just the architecture differences between Intel and AMD. IPC has been better on Intel for years and continues to be better despite AMD getting over 40% IPC improvements with Zen. That is why before Zen no enthusiast was touching AMD. AMD needs to put a flux capacitor on each core. I think an o...

Re: AMD Ryzen 7 2700 8-Core 65W Processor Review

Why does the Ryzen 7 2700X running at 3.7ghz have a MUCH lower single core score compared to the i7-8700K? i.e. Cinebench R15 - Intel - 206 and Ryzen - 179 even though they are the exact same clock speed. Even overclocked the single core speeds are LOWER than they were at stock speeds lol not by muc...

Can't use below freezing :( Dream portable would be this setup with added card reader to transfer from a dslr on the road, battery pack to operate on the road, wifi to transfer files to and from without a cable and being able to let it outside in ANY weather to use for a nice time-lapse external pac...

Re: Intel Optane Memory Tested With Secondary Hard Drive

Again pricing is just so weird as you can buy a regular SSD for cheaper than you can the 64GB module. I could see the 16gb and MAYBE the 32GB ()even though you can get a lower end/lower capacity SSD for around the same price on sale) but after that it seems almost foolish. Ok had a thought.....maybe...

Re: DDR4 Memory Scaling Performance with Ryzen 7 2700X

How much of a real-world improvement be for higher clock memory? When would a user notice the different? I just purchased 2400 memory, curious if I should return it and buy 3000+. unless you are building a top of the line kick ass computer that will run the newest games at the highest 4k resolution...

Have you heard about TSMC and how they are 3D Stacking stuff now? https://community.cadence.com/cadence_blogs_8/b/breakfast-bytes/posts/tsmc-placeholder That is pretty cool! I never heard about this. I wonder how the temps are. Stacking multiple chips seems like you would need a cooling solution fo...

Re: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Processor Review – 2nd Gen Ryzen

nice rgb cooler but the numbers still fall short of the i7 :( Sure the i7 is about $20 more but I just keep hoping AMD will hit one out of the ballpark again and give Intel a good run for their money. Heck, put a high end video solution on chip that will run a game like far cry at 1080p 60fps!!! now...

Re: Wireless AC Router suggestions

The ASUS is a 1300 so the closest Linksys would be the 1200 for $79 - still more but only a little. I have read tp-link is a good one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BUSDVBQ/ - $70 for a 1750. So now you have 3 manufacturers with multiple options each :) Just depends on what you want to spend. I thin...

I still use a Linksys e4200 N router :) Our internet sucks though so I don't need anything more than a 6mbps (MAX) throughput for the internet. I would stay with linksys myself because this thing has really worked well for all these years! https://www.amazon.com/Linksys-AC1900-Wireless-Router-EA7500...

Re: 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen CPU Pre-Sales Have Already Started

Price seems to be going in the right direction....lower! now we have to wait to see if the speed is something to smack Intel in the face with....... Although I said that about the initial releases and that did not pan out. Come on AMD, i am rooting for you to be the price leader with the speed to do...

Re: Game Load Time Benchmarking – Shootout With Six SSDs and One HDD

Anyone else old enough to remember RAM drives. Take part of your system memory and load a game onto it and run from there rather than a hard drive. Do they still have programs to split your system memory to do that? Is it possible now a days? With the size of the games you would need a lot of memory...

I ordered a SNES classic, supposed to be here tomorrow(Fri)
They were in stock at several places on Tues.

I know its a bit late to ask now, but is it worth the cost to get HDMI?

SNES Classic is HDMI....should have a cable included.
