Re: Thermaltake Core X2 Micro ATX Cube Chassis Review

The budget minded practical me needs a non-bleeding edge SFF system. The hardware whore in me wants a massive bleeding edge system with water cooled everything. I see cases like this and the inner turmoil starts. Sucks to be responsible ](*,) But, I did finally buy an SSD, so I have that going for m...

Re: How much abuse can an SSD and memory take?

I've spent close to $20k with Newegg so far this year. The worst packing is the stuff that comes out of the Industry California. Memphis is the best that I have seen. New Jersey, think it depends on who is packing the stuff as it varies. Take my last order. It came out of Memphis, all in one box was...

When rubber fan mounts fail...

Ok, I have officially given up on rubber band style fan mounts. This is the second set I have had dry-rot on me. Going back to old school metal retainers for my next cooler LOL No clue how long it was like this, this is my simi-annual cooler dust cleaning. Opened the case to find the rear fan was of...

There was a Voltron at STL Wizard World. He had to have 4 guys with him to keep him from running into stuff.

Cool looking, but hard to move around in

There is a pair of characters that I have not seen cospalys done to death (Death the kid's weapons the Thompson sisters from Soul Eater) http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081026230433/souleater/images/0/0c/Shinigami2zl3.jpg http://www.legitreviews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/AX_2015_Cosplay_17...

Re: AMD Radeon R9 Fury X Video Card Review

I shelled out over $500 for my GTX480 back when it came out. First time I ever spent that kind of cash on a new card. I would be very hard pressed to justify it again. Guess I'm not that hardcore anymore

Re: Charter Internet

Last time I used Charter personally was in the 90's, is was horrible CS, service went out all the time, and the service tech's were sketchy.

Looked at their fiber service for work, didn't get past the proposal steps before my boss shot it down for his crap experience with them.

Re: Charter Internet

It all sucks, doesn't matter the carrier. I hated my time with Direct, but that was early late 90's early 2000's. Had Charter couple years before that, then moved to BFE in 2003 had Dish since. Loved the standard def hardware, could be storming its ass off and I still had signal. This HD crap we jus...

Re: PSU Idea

Not sure what would cause stress on the card, unless you think there is not enough space between the card and the PSU for good air flow. I would have the fan side of the PSU pointed down. Thats what the vent in the bottom of the case under the PSU is for. Putting the PSU up in the top wont hurt anyt...

Re: Latest chipset MB with IDE

I was asking if it was the slow 1x burn speed that was the reason for the quality, or the drives just that good. Intel doesn't go past Z77 chipsets... ASRock Fatal1ty Z77 http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z77%20Professional/ AMD they kept it around a little longer, some of the 960 series chi...

Re: Latest chipset MB with IDE

well... have fun with that LOL :finga: I know burning slower will help prevent errors with large data like on BR, but a CD?? I know my burner will go as slow as 6x, guess I'm not patient enough, that and years in a machine/manufacturing shops my ears can't hear the difference between FLAC and 128kbp...

My question would be why do you need IDE?

Do remember some Z77 boards had and IDE port.

Re: BD media opinions?

I was using MakeMKV for a while when it was free beta but I have not converted any of mine to mp4, I kept the full uncompressed dvd or bluray. I am going to have to compress as all my dvds/blurays will not fit on my NAS uncompressed though :( I compress everything. I don't have a massive TV, and I'...

Re: BD media opinions?

I used anydvdHD (for BR and DVD) to rip the disk to an image file on my HD. Then burn the image back to a disk if I want it on a disk. Which is rare.

99% of the time I'm ripping the files to disk via anydvdHD, convert via handbrake and putting it on my NAS lol.

Re: BD media opinions?

Don't know anything about them, check LG's site or the manual that came with it. See if there is a "suggested media".. also try to slow the burn speed down.

Re: BD media opinions?

Haven't tried the RiData or SmartBuy. When I made the jump to BR for data backups last year I read through all kinds of media reviews. All pointed to Verbatim for reliability and no coasters. Using it for data archiving here at work, didn't feel like playing around and doing "what if". Loo...

Re: BD media opinions?

Oddly enough the BluRay burning I do is not for movies, rather data backup. I have been running Verbatim 25GB disks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817130156 With a Pioneer BDR2208 drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129072 What are you using to burn ...
