Re: microsoft update error 0x80096001

Uninstalling and cleaning out the registry from the .NET Framework files then installing them again has always worked for me. .NET 4.0 appears to be the required one now.

Re: How to fix the budget deficit!

Time limits on welfare is all fine and good but the program is executed in such a way that the beneficiaries become dependent on it; a revolving door progam. While on the progrm you are only allowed so much in the bank, like $3,000 max. otherwise you get penalized. Finding any job is a penalty, even...

Anyone else have this error with the 12.7 beta driver: "clistart.exe could not find insertion point in dynamic linking library located in kernel32.dll" No big deal really, just disabled CCC from starting automatically. Runs just fine starting manually after reaching desktop. Experienced re...

Re: AMD To Halt Monthly Driver Releases

Interesting. From the looks of it, they are taking a more streamline approach. Still in the back of my head bells and whistles are going off...paranoia at its best. Wife's pc has an 1900xt running on 10.2. Thought 10.2 was/is rather ok considering the abilities of the card. Wonder how much longer th...

AMD To Halt Monthly Driver Releases

So what is everyone's take on this? With not all that long ago stating that 5000 series and newer would only be supported by 12.8 and beyond, think they are running scared.

Always achieved best temps with Zalman's STG1. With my 940 clocked at 3.57GHz only time have seen it hit 51C was during a Prime95 session. Artic Silver5 would peek at 54C. Those are the only two compunds have ever used.

Re: A YouTube Video Worth Watching

The only point in the video that could be construed as racist and/or offensive is what prompted the buying of the hotdog for the guy? Skin color? The way he was dressed? There is no clear indication depicted that the guy was too poor to afford the hotdog. His clothes were in good condition. The help...

Re: Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Alzheimer's

CGI is used becuase it is alot easier to pay someone at a desk than an actaul actor, makeup artists, trailor rental, transportation crew, and all the union members required for such a setup. That is why such movies like Ben Hur, Cleopatra, Spartacus, and the original ape series will never be made li...

No matter how I search on any engine AMD is the only name that pops up. Other companies do not need to announce such an accolade?

Re: eSATA isnt recognized since installing win 7 64

On my board, to make the eSATA hot swapable the SB600 chip needs to be in ide/ahci mode. Otherwise, for the os to recognize an attached device, the device needs to be on before booting. The chip controlling the port is a Marvell flavor.

Thank you for your patience. Remember the graph from an artilce a while back back. Now I have a better understanding of that article and terminology. Re: CES 2012: ASUS Shows off Two New ROG Intel X79 Motherboa

If I am understanding correctly then, the board only has one channel. Has speed or the way data is handled changed that outfitting a board with two channels been rendered moot? Am I missing the larger picture; having four slots setup in dual channel was the only way to achieve the demanded throughpu...

By quad channel, do they mean that each DIMM socket is a separate channel? Was always under the impression that channels were made up of a pair of DIMMs. Not trying to be a wise ass, just wondering if definitions or accepted norms are changing. Typo is a possibility too.

With this under their belt, why would they feel the need to pull the wool over everyone's eyes at that event the other day? This now is starting to take on the smell of something very foul.

Re: IBM Reveals Five Innovations That Will Change Our Lives

The digital divide will continue for decades to come. Reason is that not everyone obtains the same results from the same exact search. Algorithmic filters working behind the scenes cause this. The algorithms give you what they believe you "really" want to see based on previous interactions...
