Catzilla is new (And really cool) but as such in it early days I would guess is buggy. Futuremark's 3DMark line is best for gaming performance testing, and PCMark is best for daily driving, boot times, responsiveness etc.
Heaven is really just for Tessellation (DirectX11) demonstration and comparison

Re: WD MyBook Essential went belly-up
Sorry I don't, but I don't really use external drives, I have a USB3-Sata adapter I use with internal drives for backup so there is no software overhead and the interface usually goes before the drive inside does (And I have redundant storage on a server, that I periodically back up to that 2TB driv...

Re: Routers routers rah rah rah
Does the router have a built-in switch? (IE 4-port router) How is the LAN communication with stuff plugged in just the Router? It seems that the TWC 'Router' isn't doing something right if it is having trouble routing itself. Like Bubba said, check the IP ranges and try turning off the firewall enti...

Re: No video on my HP laptop
I would just get another laptop, HP laptops are known to have a short lifecycle, with Graphics issues in particular- I had to replace the panel in my Dv6000 after just 2 years of baby'ing, and I have a tablet here with a built-in GPU that wont stay atached to the motherboard. I have never seen an HP...

Re: Gourmet Club Apple Wedger Should Be Recalled
My Fiance bought a plastic one at Hannaford that's lasted about a year but is showing the plastic starting to crack where the metal blades come into it, getting an all-metal one from Pampered Chef now (just need to pick up at party host's house now) you can find the all-metal ones at many kitchen an...

Re: Supercooled Rig!
If you need to freeze the gel to get its temperature down to 2ºC, then it's not going to stay at (or return to) 2ºC when you add the heat from the PC. Especially if you're then only cooling it again with ambient air. If the gel is chilled when put into the cooling loop, those temperatures are possi...

Re: i7 920 overclock guesses
well I have a 2.67GHz Xeon on the way that I know is good for 4.2 at low temps and low voltages Once I get it and the MSI GTX660 , i'll do some final overclocks with the 920 for HWBot and pull it out and start all over again

Still getting pretty toasty at 8-thread load 8-[ 4.030 full systemOC.jpg Lapping heatsink and IHS are my next step, right now the fans are all on a Silverstone fan controller (with a couple ghetto 3-pin extensions) and spinning relatively quiet so I think i'll see if I get this as my 24/7 clocks now

How's it going Austin? Any better luck? got some new little toys in the mail from Newegg and the OCN forums, Noctua DH-14 and Cooler Master Sickle flow 120's (69CFM @ 19dB, 2000rpm) IMG_0698.JPG But it's a wee bit tight, I actually couldn't have the Mosfet heatsink installed until after the DH-14 w...

Re: Intel DP67BG Extreme
You could try a BIOS update, but if it is losing power it could be a bad connection in the port itself or the device plugged into it, or it can be that the ports are failing. if you are using a Pinout header for USB and that isn't working either I would re-install drivers, and if they still don't wo...

Re: i7 920 overclock guesses
starting to hit a little problem: 185BCL-GHz-1dot275vcore.jpg wont be going much higher until I get the extreme load temps under control. The instant the IBT stops the temps drop right back into the 40s though... I've got my Uncore and Memory dialed in at 1873MHz RAM at 8-9-8-23-105 1T 1.65vDIMM, 37...

Re: Pair of gigabit controllers?
I assume you mean just two RJ45 plugs on the I/O, my assumption was for failover or in case one dies but I suppose you could set them up half-duplex and use one for receiving and one for outgoing packets, but either way is limited by switch/router, so.... meh. :dunno: I know it's failover for server...
