and the damn installing of software needs to be implemented the same as windows - double click file, it then asks where to install, to put icon on desktop, etc ;)

I picked up a Comapq V5201US for around $450-$500 after rebate...I use it the same way you are intending. I had problems with an ECS board and the 4 in 1 drivers too - I had to use an older version for it to work - go figure.

nice link! This is the most important part.. OEM software is also tied to the motherboard it is first installed on. Unlike the retail versions of Windows which can be transferred to a new computer, OEM versions are not transferable. What about upgrading hardware? Microsoft says that anything is fair...

Problem is that CompactFlash is only - what - 8gb or 12gb max right now, so you will never hit the 160gb Now if they made a stackable convertor and in SATA, that would be REAL nice!!

start - run - type MSCONFIG - press enter :) thn you can select the startup tab and unselect the things that do not need to be started with windows. I would also suggest - http://www.spybot.com - downlaod, UPDATE, then run it and see if it has tons of problems - FIX them of course, and see if it hel...

try changing the extension to .xls - just for giggles. Sometimes I swap extensions and all of a sudden a program can view it.

I am lost at this point, other than to have the original sender send you another file using the 2003 extensions

I would also thorw in to change the windows setup back the the windows calssic style. All those crappy looking buttons and stuff waste resources!

uninstall your audio drivers and reinstall them If you got the drivers from windows update - go back to the manufacturers website and download them from there!! Then do NOT install the windows update ones. Windows update sends wrong audio updates out for a bunch of onboard audio from my experiences!...

I just tried those convertors yesterday and they worked for me. I saved a file in 2007 and then opened it up in 2003 on a different computer.
