Re: Charter Internet

The ONLY reason that my Spectrum TV hasn't been cancelled is that the old lady HAS to have access to Cards games every day, so basically we are paying almost $100/mo just for Fox Sports Midwest (and it's alternate channels). Give me another way to get Fox Sports that has a dependable signal and I'm...

Re: BD media opinions?

Could not slow the burn down, The burn never happened. I'm not sure if you're familiar with movie backup. In a nutshell the BD rom reads and creates an image on your HDD, then burns that image to the disc. My problem is the read was failing to create an image. I had another identical unit and it did...

Re: BD media opinions?

Oddly enough the BluRay burning I do is not for movies, rather data backup. I have been running Verbatim 25GB disks http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817130156 With a Pioneer BDR2208 drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129072 What are you using to burn...

BD media opinions?

Does anyone have any opinions on the available BluRay blanks on the market?
Ones to avoid or definitely buy?
Also where do you buy your discs from?

Mostly to be used for movie backups.

Happy New Year to everyone here at LR!

BOOTMGR Issue

I'm working on a friends computer. It had a 90GB SSD, he decided he wanted to go a little bigger so he bought a 120GB SSD. I pulled the 90G one out and installed the 120G and loaded win7. Now after POST it pops up and asks which windows I would like to boot to... Windows 7 or Windows 7 recovered I'v...

I had a similar issue with my new build that turned out to be a corrupt windows install. after I reinstalled fortunately with the same disc it worked great. glad to see all your issues have been sorted :) Did you install Win7 or 8? It surprised me! I cant count how many times I've loaded windows an...

Re: New build issues!

UPDATE: 2-15-14
Apparently it was windows. I'm guessing a corrupted disc.
I did the reload using a different disc and I've been up and running for almost 13 days now!
I've ran Prime95 twice, 11 & 16 hrs respectively with zero issues!

Re: New build issues!

What does Samsung Drive Magician and/or CrystalDiskInfo say about the health of the SSD? Few other things to try... 1) Try a different SATA cable. I ran into this issue a few months back with one of my machines. The SSD kept corrupting itself and couldn't figure out why. Out of desperation I finall...

Re: New build issues!

What mouse with what drivers? Usually the first place to look is USB drivers for motherboard. Logitech 520 combo. Yes updates were run. Since my last post it ran about 2 1/2 days fine then just froze up. I am thinking something may be up with the Samsung SSD. I decided to secure erase and load Wind...

Re: New build issues!

Check for a BIOS update. If up to date play with the power settings in the BIOS to see if you can fix the sleep issue. I updated BIOS to the latest this past weekend. I also disabled screen saver, set it to turn monitor off at varying times usually I keep it at 15mins. I also have it set to NEVER g...

I then switched DVD rom's and it installed fine. I've had a couple issues with stability but found out it was win7 and all it needed w...
