Re: Antec Unveils the Three Hundred Two Enclosure
Anandtech has a review up, and it does very well on their temperature testing. Though I find the price disappointing. If it drops down to $59, $40 on sale like when I bought the original I'd upgrade. It looks like a great budget case, but budget now is not $79.

Looks pretty cool, but scary. They should do a Youtube tutorial for it.

Re: Bitfenix Raider Mid Tower Case Review
It seems like the feature set for the ~$100 case is getting well established now and it will be more about the design of the cases then if one has a cpu cut out or bottom mounted psu or tool free drive bays or 2.5 inch hd bay or usb 3.0 front ports or a fan speed controller. Yet on the design front ...

Re: Next gen APUs (Trinity)--next gamer pcs?
Maybe $400-$700 gaming laptops. Once you get past that having a dedicated video card with Intel CPU becomes a better option for gaming. Trinity as AMD tells it will have a 25% faster cpu and 50% faster GPU then Llano, so it will potentially offer the performance of a year old thick somewhat power hu...

I'd have streamed Skyrim to it like Nvidia did to a tablet during their presentation. At least that way you actually control whats going on. Fake a game people actually play!

Re: HD 7970 now available at newegg
$600 ouch. Really disappointed AMD decided to do a huge price hike this generation instead of keeping prices roughly the same. Remember the 6970 released at about $370-400.
Nvidia needs to hurry up with their next gen parts so AMD can't charge that.

Re: Looking for suggestions
Couple questions. What do you have now? If have like a Phenom II Quad at 3.2 with a 5770 graphics card, $600 wont get you that much better. Do you already have a Hard Drive you can use, since the current cost is quite high. And do you already have a copy of Windows 7 for it? 7200 rpm 500gb drives ar...

It looks almost exactly like a CM 690 II Advanced. Except it costs more and has a window. Bland and I'd dare say copied. They should try and find their own style like Corsair, or NZXT, or Antec, one that differentiates them enough to be recognizable.

Guess they need to put a racing stripe on the Force GT then!Major_A wrote:If I were walking by a rack of these and saw the names on the box I'd immediately think the Performance Pro was the faster drive. Then I would be mistaken.

Re: LG unveils 84-inch 'ultra definition' 4K 3D UD TV CES 20
I don't understand the obsession for 2k and 4k displays. Rather than that I would prefer new 50 or 60 fps video content. I get 60 fps video content in my games already. But being able to play on a 55 inch screen with almost the same pixel density as my current monitor! Just imagine it wall mounted ...

Re: Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case Review
Some great design work. I love the top button panel its just awesome looking like out of a luxury car. And the general shape, and the vents on the sides are great as well, kind of reminds me of NZXT's Phantom, but better imo. Though I am little put off by them having a cover that goes over their awe...

Re: Corsair Force GT & Performance Pro SATA III SSD Roundup
The Performance Pro expected longevity is less than that of the Force GT's at 1.5M hours versus 2M hours. Notice that the Performance Pro drive has thermal pads that rest on the NAND and there is one that rests on the controller as well. The SandForce drives lack this and frankly, I'm not sure even...

Was excited until you said new bulldozers. They would have made better cpus just putting Thuban on a 28nm process and ramping up the clocks and making a true 8 core cpu.

Re: Reset a Hanns-G Monitor
I had a Hanns G 28inch that started flickering at times, then sometimes I'd turn it on on and it'd be just a few lines across the screen, then a few months after that it just had a white screen. Your problem sounds similar to what I experienced, and I am afraid there is no easy fix for it. You could...

Re: AMD Radeon HD 7970 3GB Video Card Review
Great review! So it looks like depending on overclocking, the 7970 was between 15-35% faster then a 580 while consuming significantly less power. An all around win, except I keep thinking of that slide you guys have up on the front page, possibly a fake I know, but still 80-120% for Nvidia's 580 rep...

I have been using Microsoft's free one since it was released and love it. It never ever interrupts what I am doing and auto updates along side Windows.
