Re: One System Upgrade For All!

I like your thought path! My old systems always get handed down! If you build them, YOU should always have the Best One sitting at your Desk! Anything else is unacceptable! :) I used to do that but the wife only wants a laptop and the step-kid has her own house and uses her phone for everything.......

Re: Custom Loop Failure!

Looks Great! Your Rig always looks great! New Mobo & CPU? Did not see that coming! AMD/ASUS??? :) Not amd or asus. you wont get me on that train  Ok, I get the Intel/AMD choice(s) But, the choice not to use an ASUS Mobo is a choice I do not get! I've used most of the Big Name Boards...ECS,...

Re: One System Upgrade For All!

Always fun to build new systems :)
Pricing has been insane since the covid excuse is still being used to raise prices across the board even though they are making MORE profit so even though I would love to build a new system, I will be waiting.

Re: SSD cooling...

Honestly DJ the only thing I notice with a nvme is the faster load times, especially if you have to load individual levels. Other than that, I think most games are already optimized for standard hard drives and it will be a while till we see something like Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart that would tak...

Re: SSD cooling...

It is middle of the road I would say CrystalDiskMark_20210626102825.png I only have 1 nvme (money tree is just too damn stingy) so like i said, the bottle necks come from the regular hard drives. For storage i would probably stay with a regular hard drive mainly due to cost. 4tb nvme can be $800+ wh...

Re: SSD cooling...

Like they don't cost enough already without adding on expensive extras! Sheesh. I can see water cooling happening for the ones who still build systems. It would be cool to have a clear heatsink/block on the nvme and see the water going through it. I bought a cheaper one a while back when it was on s...

Re: Windows 11....?

With neon production halved by Ukraine stopping their production, chip prices wont drop anytime soon. Throw inflation in there its getting a bit nuts. Odd thing is, laptops don't seem to be effected, except the high end ones with the 3xxx video and such. I thought laptops would skyrocket but still ...

Re: Windows 11....?

Sounds like its time to update! [emoji857] Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk Honestly I thought about it until I saw the insane pricing on some of the cpus. Also I can do cad and 3d printer files on my system just fine. Sure it is a little slower but not all that much. I would love to get a high...

Re: Windows 11....?

For KnightRid..... Seems M$ does not want you running Win11. For those who use the work around for TPM and CPUs a WaterMark will be showing up on your desktop soon! https://www.theverge.com/22988775/microsoft-windows-11-desktop-watermark-unsupported-hardware?fbclid=IwAR2N9FQRBjmAUqNzXTuTYd4t...

Re: Need help choosing CPU and Motherboard for decent gaming rig

If you're only interested in a single card configuration, a board based on the P35 or the soon-to-be-released P45 chipset would be ideal! Simply because the chipset is getting old, I wouldn't recommend any 680i boards. The E8400 is an excellent choice because it is significantly less expensive than...

Isn't it weird! Everything in my head always says the more open it is the cooler it is as it gets more airflow, which is not the case (hah unintended pun).
