Re: How do you guys do Black and White?

GIMP should be able to handle all of your filtering needs, might give that a try before spending a lot of money on something you may not need. If you need to open RAW files try the UFRaw plugin.

Might also try CinePaint, which is a fork of the GIMP, as it handles up to 32bit per-channel images.

Re: Webmaster responsibilities

IDK much about the fees side of it but as for building the site I do have plenty of great tools :) First a couple Firefox addons...mainly just IETab and DOM Inspector . IETab lets you test the page with Internet Explorer without needed to load IE (loads right in Firefox). DOM Inspector can come in h...

Re: It is hard to get you exact info for the question

Um, borderline spam much? It's hard to help you when you don't actually have a question. I assume you're talking about the server issues you've been having and I'd suggest you keep all that confined to one thread. It's less annoying to the people that don't care about a linux server and it makes it ...

He's quite the little badass, put him in a leather jacket and I'd be hiding my lunch money

I had a 125cc three-wheeler around that age (7-9ish) and looking back I'm truly amazed I didn't kill myself as many times as I wrecked it...

Re: Linux server will never beat Windows

I agree it is kind of frustrating at first because their is hardly ever one 'right' way of doing things in Linux like there is in Windows. Usually the methods will range from rudimentary hacks to CLI tools to fully integrated GUIs but once you get used to that it gives you a lot of freedom as well. ...

Re: Linux server will never beat Windows

If you're going to be using a linux server you might want to learn the ins and outs of terminal commands (ie BASH) first. At the very least read this . No matter how good you are with Windows you can't really expect to pick up a whole new OS in a day. As for the sudo complaint, you can use sudo su t...

Re: At the risk of being deleted

Torrents in and of themselves are not illegal, for example Ubuntu uses them as their main form of distribution and a few bands have even released their records via torrents (ie Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead) so I think as long as you keep on the subject of the torrent client and not anything naughty...

L4D Hunter Practice Map

IDK how many of you are still into L4D but I was checking out some custom maps and this one is a really great way to improve your skills as a hunter. It can get very frustrating at times though, there were a few sections I couldn't get past but I guess it does take practice. Anyway, here's link to t...

While obviously a prank, they still had one really good idea I'd love to see put into some games: Introducing an innovative party system that lets you recruit party members on the fly. Draft receptionists, accountants, janitorial staff, and lab aids into your infection neutralizing death squad. Use ...

OK I finally got off my lazy butt and did some more work, it's not entirely finished (still need to do the front panel) but it's done enough to be up and running. First up, my horribly planned out loop, this thing was a bitch to bleed...was a good learning experience to say the least. When it comes ...
