LinkyBANGKOK, Thailand (Reuters) -- Japan's Hitachi Ltd, facing pent-up demand for the popular iPod digital music player from AppleComputer Inc., said it would spend about $200 million to double disk drive output at its Thailand plant.
Japan's largest electronics conglomerate said the extra production, including the 1-inch, 4-gigabyte disk drives used in iPods, would cut the six-week waiting time for the digital music players by the end of this year.
I can't believe that people are waiting for six weeks for an iPod! People should take a look at iRiver and other companies. You get more features, spend less money, and the replacement batteries won't break the bank!
