Dear All,
I am new for this forum,
I am asking this problem to studding purpose
As we all we aware the Harvard architecture is speed than Von neumann architecture, because the Instructions fetched and execute are done by single instruction cycle and separate bus. But Intel used "Von neumann". It would be much appreciated, if some one can explain, what is the matter of pact they selected "Von neumann" for there processors.
Please advice
Thanks in advance

Re: Harvard & Von neumann
The von Neumann computer model was designed well before I was born, so who knows why they picked it. You are talking about a design that was brought up in the 1930's and 1940's. Intel likely used it because it was cost effective and worked.
Von Neumann computer systems contain three main building blocks:
- the central processing unit (CPU),
- memory,
- and input/output devices (I/O).
These three components are connected together using the system bus.
The most prominent items within the CPU are the registers: they can be manipulated directly by a computer progra
