1250 watt ocz power supply vs 7870x4
Do you think it'll handle it or shoukd I settle for 3 cards? I understand 3 cards is still overkill. But the only question I have is will it work or die and take everything with it.

Should be more than fine with four 7870 cards in CrossFireX. The AMD Radeon HD 7870 GHz edition has a typical board power of 175W, so 175W x 4 = 700W. Those cards shouldn't kill anything and your PSU should have no issues.
