Antivirus

Post by BrightSide »

I use MalwareBytes for ALL my office PCs. It works quite well to keep them clean, but I'm wondering if there are additional steps or permissions I can employ to keep staff from haphazardly overriding warnings. (Besides firing the staff for being careless)

Blacklist sites, UAC (as much as we all hate that), proxy settings, lock down ie options so they can't change them, set the security level lower.

It migth sound silly, but parental control software might work for you. There are lots of software programs out there, which enable you to restrict access to particular webpages, Windows functionality, etc.

Something like a Barracuda webfilter appliance works nicely, built in blocks and also will notify when malware is detected. Also tracks usage.

MalwareBytes sometimes become sensitive with virus. I think NIS or KIS is better, I've used NIS for 4 years and it work fine
