USB sound card(?)

Post by unfaithfulsfan »

The last few days have left me feeling both old and behind the times.

I think my M Audio Delta Audiophile 24/96 sound card is starting to die a drawn out death so I started looking into a possible replacement. Was I shocked to discover that sound "cards" have moved outdoors!

I bought the AP in order to connect my MIDI piano to my computer. Looks like PCI is going the way of the ISA slot.

Do any of y'all have any opinions on USB sound cards and/or MIDI interfaces?

Thanks!

No experience in Midi interfaces (at least not in a long time) but Creative's USB sound cards are alright for what they do (at least the last time I checked, I just use HDMI now for everything and avoid the sound cards now).

Thanks.

Since I moved the AP 2496 to a different slot it seems to be OK. So far. IDK, I'm still getting feedback from the sub. Maybe my Klipsch ProMedia is starting to die after nearly 20 years. Not a bad service life! Maybe I can find a good 4.1 amp on eBay.

Looking at prices of comparable speakers I almost wish it was the card!
