GTX 980 Dead???

I have to be the most unluckiest inno3d gtx980 owner in the world as yet again the same thing has happened to my gpu. so my computer was working great put it to sleep then wake it up after doing what I was and bam red line all over the monitor. Exact repeat of my last gtx 980. This is ridiculous.

As this card is a brand new replacement would it therefore have warranty? got the card from overclockers uk but they only dealt with the rma as I never originally got the first gpu from them.

ouch :( I can not answer this one at all. I would suggest getting in touch with overclockers and see what the deal is.

I would be a little concerned about the power supply myself. I would be thinking "what could have killed 2 video cards" and the PS would be my focus. I am not saying this is what happened, it's just weird that 2 cards died the exact same way within a short time period.

will contact them Monday morning and see what they say. the thing is I have had 3 other video cards in this system, the gtx 570 (6 months and still being used in my partners pc today, had that gpu for 5 years), gtx 580 3gb sli (3 years old and one still running happily but shelved as to big for my partners case) and 2 gtx 980's. the gtx 980 was the only card to have died and in the shortest time. thing is the 980 is the only card I have had that has died on me. well minus the gtx 580 but that was due to a poor ebay seller that refunded me fairly ;)

This must be eighter a case of faulty Inno3d gtx 980's or the PSU.

That (spelling corrected LOL)

You may want to call inno3d and find out what is going on also. I mean 2 of the cards failed the same way....something is not right.

I have the same bios that was in my last gtx 980 x4 so I think it could have something to do with the bios maybe?

Was it the original BIOS or did you change it?

The original bios but I disabled boost so it jumped to boost speed and stayed there just as the 400/500 series did when gaming. nothing else has changed :(

hopefully it will. if this card dies on me then I think my mobo has a problem with Maxwell. odd but possible as no other card past 700 series has worked. this is the reason if anyone has a Maxwell gpu they need fixing I wont touch it as I got another asrock z77 extreme 6 bench and backup system for repairs and such :)
