My partners vista key has just gone not genuine and Microsoft are saying that it cannot be undone and now she cant use her pc online without problems. We are both short on funds with out daughters bday coming up shortly so cant buy another vista home premium 64 bit key. Does anyone have a vista key or even a windows 7 key they are not using as i'm desperate to get her back online and to stop her pestering me to get back online?

Gotta love Microsoft.

Did you check it with their own tool to see if it is actually valid? https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

You tried to activate through a real person over the phone too I guess...

I am looking for those old Vista discs as I have used all my Windows 7 ones for our computers....Will PM you in a bit.....hopefully lol

Oh is it 64 or 32 bit?

I had this issue with an AMD system. There was issues with an windows update breaking the validation system and making the key not genuine with Win7. I had a hell of a time with it on my work desktop. Every few days the fix would stop working. Tried reinstalling and it persisted.. Got fed up with it and built a new Intel based system no issues since.

Not sure why all of a sudden a Vista key would go belly up.

Have you tried this -> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... f17?auth=1

knightrid gave me an ultimate key that after calling mircosoft automated service I got it activated. did the same with my old vista and it still failed to work after 3 tries. for some reason it just damn out right became not genuine :(
