But you can't use the freesync feature with the nvidia card I suppose? Nice monitor but I would of choose the AOC G2460PF, which is just a little more but has 144hz. I've got a 144hz monitor and I would never go back to 60hz :)

Nope I cant but I got it for the looks and my theme red/black. I was going to go for the 144hz monitor at first but it was out of stock and was due in until next month due to back order. However, i was surprised by the cpu cooler. I get 6c average temp drop across all cores.

Previous temps with my Zalman LQ315:
Core1:62c
Core2:68c
Core3:65c
Core4:60c

Current temps with Lepa Exllusion 240:
Core1:56c
Core2:62c
Core3:59c
Core4:54c

anyone have any idea if asus would be able to repair a gtx 980 ti that no longer can be detected in bios or device manager? many have said the card is no longer being manufactured and they would simply replace the card with a 1070 or 1080 depending on how generous they are. if that would be the case, what card would I be likely to get?

They may have some backstock or refurb units they will send you as replacement. I am surprised it is still under warranty!

it was a b grade stock from overclockers uk that honoured the warranty due to it being an in place upgrade from my original inno3d gtx 980 that wasn't in stock. sending me a b grade stock meant I lost my warranty after 90 days. I have had this card 98 days and it dies on me. they said they can return it for me as the replacement from original was not a new one and warranty was unfair due to it :)

well it turns out overclockers uk and asus are doing the rma based on my original purchase of the inno3d gtx 980. so I would of got I gtx 1080 if it had been a 980 ti I had purchased. instead I have got the asus dual gtx 1070 that I am installing as I write this. its a shame as the performance is around 10% lower at max clocks than the 980 ti and it's white with no backplate going in my red/black system. oh well.

but it was free ;)

I would be happy with anything free above my GTX660 :partyman:

My concern would be how many times you have had problems with cards from them. They do seem to be very good with RMA though.

I personally think it was the Maxwell series as it was the only gpu series I ever had issues on that wasn't my own fault. the only gpu I had issues with was my gtx 580 3gb I had in sli. one overclocked to 850/2000 the other 850/1800. however memory speed matched in evga precision and the other 850/1800 gpu memory blew :(. RMA though is a breeze and was the quickest I have had :)
