thanks for the info on prcoessors, I looked at Pricewatch but they all come with a 10Gb hard drive and 128Mb memory, what's the point in that?

That's what I don't understand about building laptops. I just want to compare how much it would cost to build a:

15" Screen
1.7M
512Mb RAM
60Gb Hard Drive
CD-RW/DVD-ROM

15" Screen
3.0GHz
512Mb RAM
60Gb Hard Drive
DVD-RW

I want just a barebone with screen, wireless, keyboard, touchpad, and motherboard; I can't seem to find that, and I don't know what's compatible with what. I'm looking to build and sell notebooks to make a profit, not looking for one just to buy. And do those barebones come with batteries?

EDIT: Do those barebones just have integrated graphics, or can you add a better video card?

if you want true barebones the best place to get them is from asi, synnex, and other vendors with them though you need a business to get an account so if you already have one go for it.

I'm not trying to be rude A10, but its not that hard... Did you even bother looking at Pricewatch??

Just glancing at pricewatch it looks like pre-build systems run...

Pentium M 1.7 starts at $758
Pentium 4 3.0 starts at $898

I'm an idiot I know  but I don't want a laptop that already has a processor in it, unless it's going to save me money of course... and can I put video cards in them or are they just integrated???

I don't know where you found the 1.7M, I didn't see any "M" systems.

All I want to know is how to build:

15" Screen
1.7M
512Mb RAM
60Gb Hard Drive
CD-RW/DVD-ROM

15" Screen
3.0GHz
512Mb RAM
60Gb Hard Drive
DVD-RW

Which Asus barebones (m5n m6n or whatever) supports M and which one supports regular processors???

the l5 is the only one that will support an 800fsb 3.0, a2h supports up to 2.8 533 fsb, the rest are pM
