CES: SanDisk 72GB SSD SATA 5000 1.8''

SanDisk Corporation was showing off a 72-gigabyte (GB), 1.8-inch solid state drive (SSD) as a drop-in replacement for the standard mechanical hard disk drive that will be available in mobile products later this year. Read on to take a look at this small SATA drive!

The move to a SATA inteface means that the SSD is thinner, which means that mobile devices can be smaller. SanDisk informed us that the SSD SATA 5000 1.8" has been trimmed down in size and weight to fit inside new, sleek laptops. It measures only 5mm in height, and weighs less than 45 grams.

I love the coverage of CES LR does, getting lots of little regular updates of all the best stuff is better than having to wait till the day is over for all the coverage from that day ^_^

If they can get 72Gb in a 1.8" Disk. Don't most laptop's do 2.5" Sata HD's? Can you get 100gb SSD in 2.5" that'd be hot.
