AMD Says Intel X4500 Graphics Don't Cut It

Every year during IDF you can rest asured the Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) gang is close by with their own private technology showcase that is housed at a local hotel. We had a chance to sit down with Pat Moorhead, AMD’s vice president of advanced marketing, to see why he considers ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics superior to the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500.

The next demonstation they showed me was both systems running the recently released game Iron Man. The HP dv5t notebook with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500 graphics solution was not able to render the game correctly. The HP dv5z notebook with the ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics was able to render the game correctly. A picture of this demonstration with the systems running the the game at the same exact spot can be seen above.

agreed... Spending $700+ on something with a Blu-Ray player and it not working smoothly would suck bad. I'd just return it and try to get a refund.

Nice catch :P

Kind of sucks when you buy a laptop for the Blu-Ray player and it doesn't really work due to poor graphic hardware..

Why would they let something like that out the door? Don't they understand that if they are purchasing it for the BlueRay that they might want it to work as a player of uuummmmm BlueRay movies? And that if it didn't that their reputation might be damaged?

Intel's integrated video cards always sucked. Let's hope Larrabee doesn't suck as bad
