Corsair Memory likes to try out new things and this time around they have developed a new chassis from the ground up that is clearly aimed at computer enthusiasts. Corsair has a prototype of the yet to be named case on display at CeBIT this week and since we couldn't be there they sent us the following pictures of the original prototype that was designed back in December.

These will be spaced for a triple 120mm raditator and will come pre-drilled for the radiator. Corsair has also included water cooling cutouts in the back, so water coolers should be highly interested in this case as you should be able to mod it very easily. Something else that is very interesting is that the Corsair case comes with four hot swappable hard drive caddies that slip into a standard SATA backplane. The corsair case can hold six 3.5" hard drives and has five 5.25" optical drive bays, so you should have plenty of room to get things up and running. "

I really like the looks/design so far with the limited number of pictures floating around. Though I don't like the door for the HDDs, but it won't be opened very often so I can live with that.

This case looks awesome as pictured, too bad I can never justify $100+ cases.

Ok, that's the 3rd hottest case I've seen yet after the HAF and 1200's. I might consider that for my new server build. Love the cut out for the back plane and the gromitted cable holes.

I might have to consider swapping out of my 1200 to that when it hits the streets. Very nice. VERY heavy but nice. Not to keen on $300 bones for a case w/o PSU though.

Cool but way too expensive. I've got a dremel and some know-how that says my case can do anything that that one can too

it looks like the case has many of the mods my 900 is getting in the next few weeks. Makes me wonder if Corsair found my to do list, as I've currently misplaced it. Hmmmm?

I like the fact that they are making the face out of aluminum, and not plastic like the Antecs. I like the looks of the window as well... not the standard cookie cutter piece. And, of course, I like that it's black... would feel right at home around here.

Blah. From owning the Flash Voyager 1GB, 2GB, and 4GB.. losing them all at once.. then buying the 32GB last black friday..
To sticking their SODIMM ram in my laptop.
To using 4 gigs of XMS in my previous desktop
To using 8GB of their XMS2 DHX in my current desktop in addition to their 750W power supply..
They might as well tattoo Corsair on my forehead.
Guess all I'm missing is a nautilus 500.. haha.

The brand loyalty inside of me will probably make me get it for my next case :/
Here's to hoping the [failing] economy will make them offer it at some ridiculously low price point

Very cool but you would have to have it off the floor or have air filters in place as it would suck in much more dust I would think.

Still a work-in-progress, I hope. That would look nice w/ my HX620, so long as they put some dust filter at the bottom

Word, that's what I said when I looked at the case. I actually think it's kind of copy cat of all the great cases already out there. Nothing new, just take a little from here and a little from there. Ok, everybody here is out new "enthusiast" case.

Yeah, but that being said it looks like a solid case for when the price drops severely

Only thing it's missing is a dedicated place to put the pump.

Lets see, Corsair case... Asus Rampage II... new i7... ok, ok, MUST NOT BUILD NEW MACHINE YET!

Ok, I was pretty excited about this case when I saw the Corsair provided pic's of this case. It wasn't until I started searching the net until I got REALLY excited about it. These pics here that I was enough to sell me on it.

Lets recap the list.

Excellent Features
Hot Swap External SATA Cages? - Check!
Tripple Radiator Support? - Check!
Isolated Heat Zones (ala P180)? - Check!
GROMMITED Wire Holes? - Check!
Backplate Cut Out? - Check!
Powdercoat/Annodized Interior? - Check!
Color Matched Drive Rails? - Check!
Plenty Of Room For Wire Management - CHECK!

Changes Needed
Dust Filters? - Fail.
8 Motherboard Slots? - Fail.


Just a few simple concerns. The 8 slot thing bothers me given that tripple GPU setups are becoming more and more common. I hope that Corsair is intelligent enough to either make thier own PSU 24pin cables long enough to reach the top of the case or to provide and extension for those that might not be long enough.

All in all I'm very excited about this case. It seems they've taken into account convection, have realized how common water cooling is becoming, and have taken the ideas of the best cases (Antec 180, Lian Li, etc) and melded them into one solid looking piece of gear. The rubber gromits for the cable management system are an excellent touch as are the holes for a rear radiator. This thing could easily accomidate a single tripple radiator and a double off the back w/ a Swiftech Rad Box. Looks like my 1200's days are numbered.

Lol, yeah! Ain't nothing electical tape can't fix.

Slightly off topic here, but I want to get some of those grommets for 7/16" watercooling tubing I/O in the back of my P-180B, but I want the ones like on this case - not hollow, you know? Anyone know where I can get these kinds? I've looked at Jab-tech and PetrasTechShop and I'm not sure where else to look

I sent corsair an e-mail and they said this:

Intake fans will have a filter, we're nailing down materials and such right now.

Also, the 8th PCI slot bracket thing is being addressed.
