The ASUS Eee PC 1005PE is based on the same external design and features as our previous favored Eee PC, the 1005HA. When we began testing the ASUS Eee PC 1005PE, we quickly realized the new Pineview Intel Atom processors and platform were all about further reducing power consumption in order to continue to increase battery life. How is the touchpad in relation to the 1005HA? I ask because I own the 1005HA and I hate the touchpad.

I am not a big fan of the dimpled trackpad and the single mouse button either, but i'm actually used to it now... Rumor has it that ASUS is considering moving away from this in future designs. I wish they sent netbooks and notebooks with two button types so we could pick, but then again you have to pull apart nearly the entire notebook to change that out.

Just read this as I'm looking for a netbook for a friend. It's nice to see the battery life improve! So many choices though...
