Re: XFX Radeon 5970 Video Card w/ 4GB of Memory
ATI cards are definitely ahead of the curve vs NV on paper. I am still a fan of NVs integration as they just seem to work well time after time. Maybe that is coming to end but I am not quite ready to jump ship. This card however has me with the life jacket on
Case: CM ATCS 840 - EVGA x58 SLI - CPU: i7 940 C0/C1 (4.0gHz) - Noctua NH-U12P - BFG GTX 280 - Corsair HX1000 - 6GB DDR3 Patriot PVT36G1600ELK

I'm glad they didn't just slap on 4GB of memory, but also added support for Eyefinity 6 to put all that memory to good use on giant resolutions.
Thanks for the news because I would not have known this with all the news and discussions about the recent release of the GTX 480 anf 470.

Re: XFX Radeon 5970 Video Card w/ 4GB of Memory
i just got an email saying that one of these is missing, here is the message.
Dear XFX Customers,
In light of recent events, we have come to suspect that one of our 5970 Black Edition Limited cards may have been compromised. In our current inventory check of this limited run of 1,000 individually serialized pieces, #68 has been unaccounted for. Due to evidence of a security breach in our facility, we believe it to have been illegally obtained as the product has yet been released per the embargo date. Please be aware that the person responsible will be subject to persecution by law. If any news can be provided to lead us to the apprehension of the suspect, or you can provide us with any information, please report it to [email protected]. Please do not attempt to buy, trade, or barter for this unit. We thank you for your cooperation and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Sincerely,
XFX

Re: XFX Radeon 5970 Video Card w/ 4GB of Memory
lol my bad guys, at the bottom of the page it says "This is an XFX Gamertainment Campaign" the definition of that is "An advertising campaign cleverly disguised within a classic gaming plot scenario. Advertising that entertains as if the viewer is in middle of an actual game." - Urban Dictionary ya its publicity. im just going to go crawl back into my hole and pretend this never happened

Re: XFX Radeon 5970 Video Card w/ 4GB of Memory
This is definitely going to take us on a F1-esque ride . SAY HELLO TO 10G ACCELERATION !!!!
I don't even see my graphic card maxing out even with only 1gb . ( nevertheless , not even 64mb is used ) .
Throw that fermi **** out .
Fermi ? Sounds more like Fermented . Come to think of fermented tofu .
XFX to Nvidia : "No bargains here , i am not selling your Fermented **** , they really suck"
Across the road ... XFX pre-arranged for one of AMD's PR to meet up .
XFX to AMD : "Hey , i decided not to selling those fermented nvidia **** , why not work on a dual-slot 4GB 5970? "
AMD to XFX : "Why not ?"
XFX : Publicity stunt few weeks later
