It's a shame we can't show you how good it really looks, but watching the Masters in 3D was awesome. The 3D is not as crisp as what we are used to in gaming, but for a streamed feed it looked pretty killer. Golf is fairly boring for most people to watch, but in 3D it looked beautiful and with the zip line cameras flying around, the already killer scenery looks even better and more realistic.

This is dumb, the requirement for 3D that is. They are touting this as some new super way to watch movies. I remember going to watch Amittyville 3D when I was a kid (probably too young but oh well). What about when ABC would run a 3D program in the 80s that you needed the glasses from Circle K? This isn't new tech so I don't honestly see what the big flipping deal is. Run the program with the colors goofy, give me a pair of paper 3D glasses and let's call it a day.

I found myself watching it too even though I find Golf boring. lol.

This isn't the cyan/red 3D. Stereo3D doesn't have that color limitation that Anaglyph 3D has. Yes it has been around for a while, and its been used in medical 3D imaging but like SSDs are now entering mainstream use.

Refresh my memory what comes with the 3D Vision kit? Is this a video card/glasses thing or something else entirely?

Glasses and the IR sensor... You then need a 3D Vision ready GeForce card with the proper drivers and then a 3D monitor or TV.

I know when I update my drivers I extract them using WinRAR first and delete the 3D Vision and Audio software before I install. Since I don't have/use either it seems like a waste of registry code. What does the image look like without the 3D glasses? Is it noticeable that the broadcast is different?

I think the screen shot in the first post of this thread shows what the 3d image looks like... did you mean something else?

I couldn't tell if it was artifacting due to the exposure of the camera or if the screen just looked like that.

Cool...I didn't know they were broadcasting video feeds in 3D already. Thought it was just a gaming thing.
Wish I had a setup where I could evaluate a broadcast for myself!

Your local BestBuy might have some demos set up. I know nvidia has some 3Dplay tour going right now where they demo it: http://blogs.nvidia.com/ntersect/2010/0 ... r-you.html
