Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) has been designing and manufacturing computer motherboards since 1987. Today, the company also designs and manufactures desktop PCs, notebooks, servers, video cards, wireless solutions and handheld devices for manufacturers and distributors worldwide. On our visit to Taiwan this month we had a couple hours of free time before our flight home and asked ECS if we could randomly stop by for a quick tour of their new building that just opened in 2008.

Almost all the cubicals had a stack of boards in them or above them, so its safe to assume just this one floor had thousands of motherboards hanging around!
