AMD Brazos Platform Benchmarked - Zacate E-350 1.6GHz APU

Earlier this month we had the opportunity to visit AMD's Austin, Texas headquarters to preview their upcoming 'Brazos' development platform and actually got some hands-on testing with a Fusion APU system prior to its launch. Today, we bring you performance numbers on the 18W TDP Zacate APU called the E-350. At 1.60GHz this dual core processor might just impress you!

It won't be my choice for an HTPC (CPU too weak) but it looks perfect for netbooks and ultraportables.

Certainly more than Atom.

It's better than the Atom but not really significantly better. My minimum requirement is 2.4GHz for Allendale, Wolfdale or Regor and 3.0GHz for Brisbane.

sorry for being confused about the new "core" and "module" and "integer execution units" and what now constitutes a core according to AMD.

so, is this a true dual core processor, with two separate fully functioning cores with all the "cores" having all the normal parts?

or is this one of those "core and half" things that has two pipelines and two integer processors but shares the other parts like fpu, but AMD is calling "dual core"?

confused, but just trying to keep up!

This is an actual dual-core. I seem to recall Zacate is based on K8 architecture so you don't really have to worry about all that core and module thing until Bulldozer.

could i ask another question?

is legitreviews going to compare the graphics against Intel's desktop integrated graphics? it would be nice to see if zacate can really compete against the integrated gpus like intel's HD or the 890gx.

the only site so far that did, was anandtech, and they just did three games and the zacate could only win one.

could legit PLEASE report some comparable integrated graphics numbers from the 890gx and intel (Clarkdale)?

This does not have any SidePort DDR3 Ram for the GPU unlike the 4290 , and , this is a engineering sample , not for benchmarking the best until they iron out kinks .

@above
Zacate was designed to replace the premium netbook / thin and light notebooks , not a HTPC .
Sure , it has good TDP's for that performance ( The Chipsets Used In Atom is still notoriously power-surping ) and i suspect 6310 is a Mobility 5430/50/70 with higher clocks then a 30 but lower then 50 which is ... 580 MHz . And lower power consumption .
