I had the phone as a loaner for 48 hours, so I did not sync my personal lists on it. Hard to do everything in just 2 days with an item.

Its all good, and yeah 48 hours is not a lot of time.

more to do with win phone 8 than the phone itself. outlook contact/calender syncing. can it be done with out looping it through Hotmail or some cloud service first.

I don't use outlook, sorry.
