Corsair Carbide Air 540 ATX Cube Case Review

Over the years, Corsair has been coming out with new products in their lineup, and one of those products that they’ve added to their lineup in the recent years is computer cases. They have made standard sized and styled cases and they have also braved making cases with different features. Today, we will take a look at Corsair’s Carbide Air 540, which falls along that different category. Jump in and see what we thought about Corsair's latest creation!

Corsair had to think outside of the box on this one, going with a non-standard style ATX computer case that had some great features. The moment the Corsair Carbide Air 540 cube case arrived on my doorstep, I was nothing short of intrigued just by the thought of dual chambers. I think Corsair nailed this case on the head and it will appeal to many enthusiasts...

Every case review i've seen here goes "We all know that hot air rises ..."
Heat doesn't rise. Air goes where you push it. Heat only rises in natural convection not forced convection as we're doing in computers

But if forced convection is done against the natural convection, then that is work wasted. Installing a fan doesn't void natural convection. If two work together, then maximum efficiency is gained.

Do ya understand what's forced convection? Only one exists at a given time unless the intake fan is so weak there isn't much CFM. Sorry mate, computers are built mainly around forced convection ... If they are truly making use of natural convection then we'll be all having massive mobo heatsinks and gargantuan cases

The last two case reviews were written by our newest reviewers that are still learning and getting better as time goes on. They've both done <2 case reviews, so they'll continue to learn and improve their reviews as time goes on!

Apparently you are underestimating the power of natural convection in a computer case, especially if a relatively silent system is required. Of course you can make natural convection influence on heat transfer near 0 with a bunch of powerful fans, but I wouldn't want to be in the same room with that system without ear protection. Making forced airflow work alongside natural one to cool the components makes for a silent and effective solution.

Seeing rings like this gives me the itch to build a massive beast of a rig again, but it would be like driving a Ferrari and never leaving a school zone. Just no need for it
