I didn't see the price tag at first but wow that's expensive. think I will be passing on this lol.

The good news is that Gigabyte has a ton of boards for the Intel 200 series with pricing starting at $69.99. The bad news is that Gigabyte just gave me the updated final prices today and the Z270X-Gaming 9 had it's MSRP increased from $499 to $519... Not the right direction.

1 board review out of 31 Gigabyte boards = 3% of the Gigabtye lineup reviewed

15 years ago when the site started there were just a handful of boards for each launch and PC sales were booming. Now each company has 30 boards and PC sales are sluggish.

Perfect storm and this is one reason it is so much harder to get traffic on reviews (not to mention videos are overtaking written reviews with the under 30 crowd). We review 4-5 boards for each chipset and don't even cover 5% of the market. I honestly have no clue why Gigabyte has 20 Z270 boards with plans to add more over the next year.

Companies do this all the time with the "Everyone wants more choices" theory. You will have people who bitch and complain if there is not a specific board to meet their needs but write them off and make 5-8 boards max. Save production costs and therefore lower the price needed to be charged for each board, tech support would be easier and it would just make more sense. I was thinking 3-5 boards at first but I figured we should start a bit bigger.

So if Gigabyte would like me for CEO, I am available

Video is the way now a days. Gonna have to put that mug on camera and follow the trend.
