Today we are able to show you the benchmark results for the Intel Core i9-7980XE Skylake-X processor, which is Intel’s High-End Desktop Platform (HEDT) 18-core, 36-thread CPU (2.6 GHz base/4.4 GHz Boost 3.0/24.75 MB Cache) that costs $1999. This processor takes performance to the next level and the overclocked benchmarks are unreal!

My lord what is up with the power use when overclocking? I could see some but this is just insane.

Also
For any load greater than 230 Watts we were told by ASUS that we should provide some active cooling to the boards VRM heatsink.

So even for the stock settings you should have active cooling? Cinebench got 268 watts in multi-core. Maybe they should have included active cooling on these boards if they are required for even stock cpu's!
Remember, I am opinionated and nothing I say or do reflects on anyone or anything else but me :finga:

Pretty much for one of these 165W TDP processors!
