TROPICAL STORM NATE

Post by Apoptosis »

I can't ever remember having a tropical stormed named after me, but when the Nathinal Hurricane Center called and asked to coin a storm after me I couldn't say no... okay that didn't happen, but it's got my name!

Today Tropical Depression Fifteen became Tropical Storm Nate. At this point in time it is expected that Nate will be approaching category 1 status by early Friday morning. Nate is currently on a track heading towards South Carolina, but is expected to begin a turn to the north east Wednesday evening. The best long term projection of Nate's course would take it north of Bermuda, well away from the US coast, but at this point it is too early to place any reliance on this projection.

Heck the darn storm is unpredictable just like me!

The wife and I were just talking about this yesterday.......tropical storm Nate......I think they are going to put out a special warning to all gas stations as i've heard Nate can cause severe damage to pumps.
I also like the use of the word "meandering" when describing Nate.

Natedogg is a definite threat to gas pumps anywhere he shows up.
I think "meandering" describes both extremely well

I'm just glad they decided to name Katrina that instead of Kristin. I'd be getting a lot of **** for it if they named it after me!

That's funny that there's one named Nate. Good job with that buddy. :supz:

What a difference a day can make. In this case the difference is one the people of Bermuda probably don't want to hear about, but need to. It now looks like Nate has turned into Hurricane Nate and is headed towards the Island. What's worse is that there is a 5% probability that Nate will be a category 4 or greater hurricane and, if the NHC's prediction about Nate's probable path is correct, it hits Friday morning. The good news in all this is that it is too early to know anything for certain, but if I was on the island I would start thinking about what I might best do.
