TROPICAL STORM NATE

Each tropical storm is given a name, and they go down the alphabet and alternate sexes. If you look at the list in the previous post, you have "Arlene, Bret, Cindy, Dennis, etc." Next year, the "A" name will be male, and the "B" name will be female.

They actually pick the names well before the season hits, just the way Amy says. I always wondered what happened if they ran out of names, but after a bit of reading found out they just start over with another "A" name

I think the national hurricane service names them by alternating male and female names. The actual names are randomly generated I believe.

Today it appears that the probability of a direct hit on the Bermuda from Nate is considerably lower. The critical issue was when Nate would make its turn to the northeast. It appears that the turn will take place south of Bermuda and this in turn will take Nate south of the Island. By Thursday morning we should know, as by then the turn should be well established. The NHC is predicting a storm surge of four feet at Bermuda from Nate, and a probability of 22% that the center of the hurricane will come within 65 miles of the island.

Nate tell your storm spawn to turn towards The Hamptons, I hear its beautiful there this time of year and rich people need a little weather variety too...
I have come to the conclusion that "FaceBook" should be renamed "FacePalm"
