I am a member of a few forums, but wanted to hear what my computer tech forum friends think of this issue. I've been dealing with a lot of issues with my Chevy. I love the car and don't want to give it up, but it has a lot of problems-- specifically when trying to shift into park. The computer doesn't register that the vehicle is shifting into park. I've seen lots of theories on this, a California Lemon Law firm said that the shifter switch isn't sending a strong enough signal to the BCM (see details below), I guess this is what the TSB said. Chevy's solution is to add a shifter jumper harness... but then they say if it doesn't work to replace the whole damn thing. A few friends of mine had the whole replacement done but then experienced the SAME issues. My question is, is it worth it? What is Chevy not disclosing and do you think a tech savvy individual like myself may be able to find a solution? Open to all suggestions!!!

Chevy what?(Year) Cruze, Malibu, Impala, Sonic......etc!

What Trans/engine combo does it have?

Is this covered under a warranty or Service Bulletin/Recall? Is this something you are paying for?

Heard about this but luckily don't have a Chevy right now :) Seems they are replacing parts with the same manufactured parts that cause the same problems! https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2021 ... -off.shtml

Fix maybe - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYzKkdfdA1I - well a patch. I would NOT do this until you take it to the dealer, especially if it is under warranty!

Another one - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFqKzOM5Bwg

Again I would only worry if people win the class action lawsuits and then get told they don't qualify due to these "hacks" I am no expert but it is YOUR OWN FAULT if you try any of these and then you cant get a proper fix down the road ;)
