Over at [H]ard|OCP there is a screen shot of Panda Anti-Virus picking up an infection located in the "c:\program files\valve\steam\steamclient.dll". If you have seen this before, or it has happend to you, please post back to this thread.

Because this result was a Heuristics virus scan it could be nothing. Heuristics finds things that act virus like. Steam is constantly changing files via updates. so this coule be the reason it was detected. As we say in the science community this could be nothing more than a False-Positive!

I am currently running a Norton 2004 scan to see if my system has anything interesting on it.

Nate, did you ever get a response on this? I still think it's a false find.

Also, how in the world do you have Panda and Norton installed? I'm doing that on my school computer right now, and Panda terminates install because it said Norton was incompatible with it. I just deleted Norton b/c Panda is superior! :)

I think it's a false positive... nothing came up in my Norton scan. I only have Norton running on my game PC. Is there such thing a a best virus scanner? LOL

Well, I've seen Panda, and you even gave an example of something it can do, find unknown viruses, where Norton only finds what it's defined to. That's why I like it more than Norton. :P Yeah it can find false junk from time to time, but hey, it's better than nothing. That file must have gotten modified during an update and it alerted Panda of the change, Panda thinks it's a virus, and tells you.
